Hi

I am trying to buy a Fujifilm 16-55mm MkII. Sold out everywhere in the world it seems. At least in Europe impossible to buy. Any ideas why? and more important when they will be back in stock?

Thanks

Steven

Fuji are always parsimonious with inventory as unsold items are very costly. Beyond this no one agrees what is happening.

As to when again no one knows.

This is true and the US on again, off again tariffs are messing up supply chains worldwide.

It’s a popular lens. More buyers than stock. If you want one, usually best to order from your preferred dealer.

Passing no comment on US policy if a company cannot predict a price point at which an item will be profitable (and hence predict sales) then it is bound to make them cautious about how many of any item to make.

I found one a few weeks ago at a local shop. Wasn't planning on getting it, but it was so light I could see that being my only lens for hikes and travel so I got it.

So check out local stores if you have any. might get lucky?

If your don’t mind buying a grey import e-infin.com have them in stock

choice is yours

Jessops appears to have a few in stock in the UK

So not that hard to come by

LCE in the U.K. estimates delivery at 28 days.

Thanks for making me look up "parsimonious" 😉😂

You could have prevented almost every single one of us from also having to look it up, by posting the meaning 😉😂

Bravo. I'd have said frugal more than stingy. The former has a hint of wise restraint, the latter lacks any hint of wisdom.

Edit: Is it just an archaism or another example of two nations separated by a common language?

Somewhat outdated word probably only used by older generations of English Teachers, or Schoolmasters as my late father described himself 😉

Off topic, but you may be right! I recently wrote a policy for church contrasting euphemism and periphrasis. The only young and well educated man I know is currently in purdah as he has a new wife who is absorbing all his attention so I can't really ask anyone.

FWIW, in a world of emojis and TikTok, I'm glad there are still people using words like parsimonious.

Well periphrasis is a new term for me! But having read the definition I would observe that the English, and certain churches have a tendency to it 😂
