Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

It's the media referring to it as a heatwave. To me it's just summer . Temperature today is 27C. Rain is expected on Tuesday so the so called heatwave isn't going to last much longer.

Dave

Looks like a nice ride. .. good temperature as I'm staying in the AC mostly as our temperatures are daily above 90F with matching humidity. But that's the south USA and my body no longer likes this hot weather ... maybe something cool to drink .. join me? ...

Riding the bike creates a breeze WN which helps. I don't like too much heat.

I could use a cold 🍻 right now.

Dave

Pretty. I should do that too. I especially like the orange one with dark dots.
Thanks .. I like that one too .... Don't see for long and not sure it was the Garden's idea or just a wild plant that will be removed.

Nice set, WhyNot. I especially like the spotted Canada lily. Your day lilies have nice fringes on the petals. I don't have any with such ornate fringes to shoot. 😭 Rich

Thanks, Rich .. As I said above I do like that flower whenever I find them here, usually in the wildflower garden so not sure what they are doing where I found them, not the WF Garden ..

Thanks for stopping by Dave ...
The lilies are exquisite WN. Their names make me smile and I have to wonder at the thinking behind the choices.
I always find the names interesting and sometimes I'll take a picture of one that looks just like the one's I took earlier just so I can write the name ...
Electric Marigold Magic is the clear winner for me.😊
Just for the name!!!
We need to get out of this heat and where we can get that cold one!!

A nice set of images WN, lovely flowers all! We have day lilies that are very similar to the ones you show here, other than the shores one. Their names are all different but I would be hard pressed to tell them from yours!

Andrew
Thanks for stopping by, Andrew ... Actually there are numerous here that I cannot tell the difference, except for the name. The names often include the name of the nursery where they were developed ... none of these though .. I think ...

Temperatures in my area reached 25C or 77F .

Great scenery.

Went on my regular bike ride @7am with 20C.

Now it's 30C with humidity of 40. That's Tropics

In Frozen White North country. Unbearable.

Great picture of The Moon, Dicky. I like paste in, too. I think it worked well. Staring at a picture of The Moon whilst guzzling spirits can get you visited by pixies. Take my word for it. 😵‍💫 Rich

Drink, where is the drink???!!!

That is lovely country to ride in, Dave. The Panasonic makes very nice colour. Warm, eh? Just a few miles inland here it will get to 107° today with a mild breeze, like being in a convection oven. Here at the beach it will reach a perfect 65° with a chilly breeze coming off The Pacific. I feel like going for a ride, too, and I can assure you it will not be to the east. Rich

I'll stick with you beside the sea Rich. 65 and a breeze sounds perfect.

I could handle the morning ride Chris but not those daytime conditions.

Dave

Now that's pretty warm Chris. A cold 🍺 would go down well. One is almost never enough.

I just find the conditions a bit unbearable and almost suffocating. "Murder she wrote" comes to mind...

Chris

Yuk. Hope it isn't damp too. Just now I hear thunder in the distance. Maybe we'll get that rain storm after all.

32 here as well Chris but the humidity has dropped from 80% to 60%. Likely these actual moisture content but the temperature has risen!
