What type of paper (matte, luster etc.) do you print landscapes on?

It really depends on the image and particularly its gamut, contrast and Dmax, but generally speaking most of my landscapes are printed on Canson Arches 88 (matte), while those images that have a very broad gamut or require high black density get printed mostly on Canson Platine Fibre Rag (satin) or Canson Baryta Prestige II (semigloss).

I occasionally use other papers too, but I have pretty much settled on the Canson Infinity lineup for most of my printing needs.

Paper choice is a very subjective and personal choice. There are literally hundreds of choices. Also your choice will be subject on what kind of printer you have (dye vs pigment ink).

But for what it is worth, I use Red River Big Bend Baryta for most of my color landscapes and Moab Entrada Natural for my black and whites. I print on an Epson P5370.

dye printers here.

According to the scenes and tones, I print them on those glossy papers:

* Espon premium semi gloss

* Epson premium glossy

* Permajet titanium 300

* Mediajet silver irridium 260

Not an answer but maybe some info. Long ago in the film world it was drummed into us that glossy papers had the maximum dynamic range. I tend to use glossy for most things, assuming the same thing is true for inkjet (Canon PRO-100).

Fairly recently I tried some Red River Polar Matte instead of my usual UltraPro Gloss. I was amazed at how good it was. I didn't know you could get that kind of pop and dynamic range from a matte paper.

Print size will affect your choice. I'd avoid heavy texture for smaller prints, but it can work great for the larger ones.

Paper has come a long way, and I don't think there are many bad choices. Just get a sample pack and see what you like.

Thank you all for your replies. I am using Epson XP 15000 and usually I am using OEM inks and paper.

Well same printer here.

If you're in the US, you won't be deceived by the Red River papers. I'm in EU so can't really buy from them, had the chance to try many of their types though.

For a starter, you could also try the Epson premium glossy or semi glossy it works out well. I print super B (A3+) on that too.
