Obviously, the technical quality isn't great, but I love the reach available in that small body.

We need more compact cameras with longer reach along with fastish 24-70s and 24-100s because a lot of people barely take any photos in low light.

Wait until you try an Olympus Stylus 1 with 24-300mm f2.8 zoom lens. PS. That lens is tack sharp too, Canon doesn't have anything like it.

(Of course the Olympus also has a handy 2x teleconvertor).

I'm currently using a $25 Sony HX50 pocket camera that goes all the way to 700mm, the lens is pretty sharper than what you get with the old Canon.

Finally, Canon themselves have the SX740 with a huge zoom range. The IQ is not great, but if you don't shoot with other brands, that's the way to go.

I have looked into Olympus and wanted it for a while, but it isn't available in my country anywhere. It isn't compact but for what it offers, I can live with that.

The others are a no go because it doesn't shoot raw. DxO Photolab works wonders on old cameras, even though these photos are just processed in Lightroom mobile.
