I am new to DSLR and would like to buy the DR. I was thinking of buying the standard kit first, and to buy lenses later as I want to shoot landscapes, people (my new born daughter) indoor and outdoor.
However I found these offerings but don't now the quality of those lenses.

Can anyone give me some advise? Any extended kit below that is really worth considering or are they all cheap (crappy) lenses?

I suppose location/country might have some bearing on it but speaking here of my own saituation in UK, I am thinking of the Rebel myself and a good friend has just bought one (in US) and he had the standard 'kit' (body + 18-55) and having seen a few initial pics I have to say I am astounded at what he's getting - just in his first 50 or so pics. The thing is, as far as I'm aware in UK at least (think it does generally apply) that kit lens is ONLY available with the initial kit purchase - you cannot buy it seperately. Now as a starter it is without doubt a very excellent lens..and I think really well worth having at the only time it is available. He's ordered with the kit the 50mm f1.8 which I believe is generally regarded as a corker of a lens and not at all dear - in fact he's only paying $70 for it. Another high recommend is the 28-105 USM. Having had Canon USM lenses I can tell you that they are smooth as silk...that USM really purrs and again that 28-105 version is not expensive AND provides even just with the kit, a very good coverage for what it seems you are likely to do. So there is perhaps a starter thought. Hope it's of some guide.
