Lovely images that really capture emotions. I also appreciate that you uploaded full resolution pictures as I at times like to zoom in on different parts of a photo. I agree that the Viltrox 75mm is an incredible lens, although here you got great results with all your lenses.

Superb! And the first set!

Solid work. One question: Can you provide some details on your objective? That is, were you trying to tell us something about Thailand, or something else?
I am not sure what would like to hear , but Thailand is one my favourite places to go on vocation , combination with beatiful nature, kind people and prices that are reasonable.

It's stunning work, but other than your statement that it is about Thailand, I have no sense that it is. I think your work is great, but the images strike me as a professional family shoot that could be anywhere. I have no sense of place beyond nature.

I accidentally found your photo thread here and must say that your photos I find are way beyond top end. It was enough for me look through your portfolios and thought that THIS guy either shoots hundreds of thousands of pics and accidentally gets it right now and again - or just has this rare talent to just "get" it.

Your lifestyle, or life shoots in all its glory have an energy that is rare and not often found on dpreview.

Quick question: what happened to the Leica???

Thank you Hans . Viltrox for price is unbeatable, I am glad full resolution images was helpful for you.

Thank you very much for kind comment deednets , what I usually do is observe compositions with lighting and trying to make it all work together, After i find the position then its fine tuning what is left and then I take few images to get best one.

Here are few examples:

Here I liked the scene but light was coming from above, and the picture wouldn't be nice if they looked straight , so i told them to look up to get the light from above and it lifted the faces nicely without using reflector or other lighting source, and before all since I know that we would be in forest so a bit darker background is expected, I gave to children lighter colours so it would make nice contrast with background.

Here I saw that I could fit her in the background of trees just about right with Viltrox 75mm f1.2 lens at specific distance to making nice separation , and what is left is to position her just in the right spot between sky up and bright spot bellow trying to leave palm tree visible on the left, what was interesting is that I needed to push her quite hard and to run to the spot to take quick shot , and I used the spot on sand that I was previously so I could get there quickly and capture the image :) It is even more like fun game with interesting result.

Here in this pool there was one area where sun hit the water and other area were darker as trees in background, and here I tried to make motion visible while separating the background as well and getting as much rid of reflection on leafs so I used Cpl together with 6 stops nd filter to get wider aperture and slower shutter speed, important thing is to sun hit the water making it brighter then background to make nice separation.

About Leica I still have it , but very rarely actually use it..

Like others, I'm not 100% what you're expecting from the OP. From what I can tell, the OP didn't visit Thailand as a photo journalist. Instead, they appear to have visited a beautiful part of the world as a vacation with their family. From where I'm sitting, they have managed to capture this experience quite well.

Also, and I may be mistaken, but I think the OP had a previous thread asking about what kit they should take to Thailand. This perhaps explains the title?

Edit - fantastic photos!

Quality set of shots… capturing great memories 👍

Very nice family photos indeed - congrats!
A bit too staged for my taste but that is just personal preference.

Thailand is one of our favorite countries to visit and we've been there 12 times during the last 20 years (with our children from young age too). The last couple of times we have rented a car and and gone north for road trips in the mountains on the Laotian and Burmese borders. "Thailand" can mean so may different things for people. It is a large country with vastly different biomes (paradise islands, mountains, mega-cities, rural areas, deep jungles, villages, khmer areas etc etc).

Thank you for your comments Polybazze.
