New Hasselblad Camera HB722

Hopefully a cheaper price
I was about to say “if it's an X2D II, it's going to be even more expensive and inaccessible, and the days when you could buy a used Hasselblad for less than 3000 € are definitely over :-(”
Out of curiosity, I just checked used prices at MPB U.S., and on offer are:

X1D, excellent condition, $2209 = €2039,

X1D II, excellent condition, $3299 = €3044, and

X2D, like new condition, $7519 = €6939.

I realize that U.S. prices are typically quoted without sales tax, but E.U. prices are typically quoted with the local (?) V.A.T. And I realize that sometimes U.S. and E.U. prices differ substantially. But you can probably find less expensive options on eBay. Also, I can't imagine the release of an X2D II will do anything other than make these prices go down.
If that’s the case they should sell x2d for $3999

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, I was talking about price trends on the most recent models, i.e. the X2D MK I and hypothetically the forthcoming MK II. My old X1D still works fine but it won't last forever, and I'm afraid I won't be able to upgrade, actually I'm already slowly switching to the GFX system. But I could be wrong, Hasselblad has already surprised us with its pricing policy, and this could indeed happen again...

No, MPB should sell the X2D for whatever they can get for it. They are not a charity; they're a private business attempting to earn a profit. Given their experience and apparent size, they probably have a very good idea what they can get for an X2D, and it's probably close to $7519.

Also, I think a strong case can be made that the value / usefulness / photographic goodness of an X2D is twice that of an X1D II, especially relative to the alternatives.

History:

* June 22, 2016: X1D for $8995 / €7900/ £5990;

* June 19, 2019: X1D II for $5750 / €6000 / £5400; and

* September 7, 2022: X2D for $8199 / €8699 / £7369.

And then of course there's the medium format digital competition to consider, mainly Fuji and maybe in some cases Phase One, but no longer Leica or Pentax.

With the GFX 100 II at $7499, I'm guessing that the most likely price for the X2D II is about $8499.

I hope the new X2DII will be presented soon. I am tired of all these YouTuber doing commercial for the actual X2D.

Wondering why they didn’t do it as the camera was new…

Maybe I’ll sell my X2D later, it it will depend on the new features.

Alright, FCC updated with external, internal and user manual for X2D II.

No more microphone, so 100% no video capability.

Added a LiDAR for autofocusing, so maybe continuous AF?

Added a "5D button" which I assume is the joystick and another thumb button that's customizable.

Has a shutter control port

Same sensor but slightly improved IS - 100mp sensor and 16 bit color and 15 bit of DR. 8 stops of IS.

Appears to have the same screens.
