I just bought the DJI Pocket 3 and I'm looking to get another camera for that POV view. The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is also tempting with the 8K sensor, but my quick research shows that its mounting options aren't the same as the GO 3S. It's also heavier. So now I'm leaning on the Meta or the GO 3S.

My first inclination is to get the Meta since it seems more natural, but slow boot times and a bit of lag in taking pictures/videos are scaring me away. Also, there is no way to preview the composition before shooting.

The GO 3S can attach magnetically so that's a big plus and gives me options. It's light and I can attach it to shoot vertically with the magnetic pendant is awesome. I do wish the sensor was bigger and LOG.

Does anyone here know how long I can film with the GO 3S? The Meta annoyingly restricts to 3 minutes as the max.

It seems like the 3S cam probably films higher quality than the Meta. What do you guys think?

The one thing that I haven't really seen is whether the view is that much different between the Meta, which is at eye level, and the 3S at around the neck and chest level with the magnetic pendant.

Looking for opinions! Thx?

According to official data, GO 3S can record up to 38 mins, with 4K resolution. Ray Ban is limited to 3 minutes max per video, with resolution of 1440x1920 Px @30 Fps, plus Ray Ban battery life is about 4 hours max.

Do you have either? From the reviews, it seems like obtaining the media from the Meta is slow and tedious. Not sure if Insta360 is better. Meta is probably the easiest to use as I won't have to buy any new additional accessories. I do like that the Go 3S can record longer, but I wonder if it supports open-gate recording so that I can edit grade, and just crop on the PC.

Yes, the Go3s has free frame mode, which is open gate recording from the full 4:3 sensor.

You can also attach the Go 3S to a hat with an included accessory.

Do you have both? Which one would you go with? You seem to have a lot of experience with action cameras!

I have only the Go3s. All I know is the quality of the 4K video and the stabilization is excellent (as is the audio), compared with best action cams:

Don't you also have the Ace Pro 2? Which one do you use more often?

I'm reading there is a magnetic pendant. Is it easily adjustable and get it as close to the chin for a more natural POV?

I've seen a video where someone put the Go 3s on a beanie. How would I do that? A black beanie and a black Go 3S would be like the ultimate stealth mode during wintertime.

I know low light performance won't be good with the Go 3S, but is it able to at least get the exposure right walking at night or inside a restaurant?

Is it easy to get the composition right with the pod? Is there a lag when connecting the camera to the pod? Can I enable a rule-of-thirds grid in the pod?

What are the settings to get the best possible video and audio quality? Any way to use this with my DJI Mic 2? I'll likely use the freeform/open gate mode for editing on the PC to maximize image quality and cropping.

I have access to scores of cameras; I do not consider Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses to be a camera I would ever use.

This is the link to the manual!!:

There is a rule of thirds, the pendant has an adjustable cord, so you can wear it close to your neck. There is no lag connecting to the pod. There is no external mic capability for the Go 3s.

There is a rule of thirds you can invoke, the pendant has an adjustable cord so you can war it close to your neck, there is no lag putting it in the pod. There is no external mic capability. The low-light performance is pretty good - did you look at the video? the internal mics are good too - did you look at the video?

Yes, I did, and thanks again for the video.

The manual just mentioned the grid without stating what kind of grid. I'll take it from you that it's rule of thirds.

Which settings did you use to get the best quality? I'm assuming I-LOG isn't available?

Any other accessories I should consider getting?

Does the Insta360 app geotag the videos?
