An excellent combo for fashion runway shoot. Shot on Saturday at the opening party. An outdoor event.

Nice images, nice lenses with a nice rendering.

If possible try to have the camera at ISO 400 in stead of 320, the sensor actually performs better at ISO 400.

I'm not sure what's going on in this picture, but maybe the eye focus confirmation didn't kick in or maybe the subject moved a little too fast (a turning kind of movement?), but it doesn't look as sharp to me as the lens could deliver.

Overall look is nice, that's not the point.

Focus is forward of the subjects face/head. Seems relatively sharp where plane of focus falls

My opinions are my own and not those of DPR or its administration. They carry no 'special' value (except to me and Lacie of course)

Yes, it seams a little front focused, that's probably a better analysis.

Focus is a bit off. But it is a pretty picture!

Reason for missing focus is because I was switching from video mode to still images capture at the last moment (when the model was approaching the end of the runway.)

I was doing double duty - video and still images. I wish the R5M2 is faster in switching to video from still image capture when I hit the red Record button. Sometime it will hesitate a bit. That little hesitation is annoying.

I do wish the On/Off and the Still/Video buttons are switched. I find that switching from Still to Video with the Still/Video button is much faster than the record button.

Cheers

Nice demonstration.

A quick suggestion would be to shoot most of these in portrait orientation? ;-)

Thanks for sharing!

But landscape gives you more estate.

I don't post on TikTok or Instagram. If I shoot for the designer, they would like the Tik Tok more.

It was a fun shoot. My friends and I had a blast.

Nothing in the Canon system beats the RF 85mm f1.2

It never fail to amaze me when I open the inages in lightroom.

Cheers.

Sorry, I'm just speaking as though advising some of our junior photographers. You're just shooting for fun, so you are free to follow your heart. :-) Take this with a grain of salt then.

It works only if you frame everything much more loosely (as in a couple of your samples). Then crop to your desired framing, avoiding chopping people at the knees and feet, etc. Your output requirements will determine how deeply you can crop though.

For the runway, every editor I've shot for has requested about 80% portrait orientation, and 20% landscape showing more of the venue or some artsy-fartsy compositions.

I always ask what the intended purpose/use will be beforehand.

I understand. Many of the photos I post here have not been edited for composition, and are meant only for evaluation.

Generally any image posted on the forum is open for critique, and I still welcome all comments. :-D

It's a pretty picture, absolutely.

Ah, that "making of" story explains it. Thanks.
