Hi All,

Just got my Fuji X100VI.

I’m looking to purchase a bag to carry around the camera that takes advantage of its size while not being so snug that it’s a pain to get in and out. Not looking for the different cases or grips. This would be a bag that will protect it but not be too large.

Any all thoughts and what you are using would be appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Rich

Big enough to accommodate a g,rip and protection filter/hood, but a great fit either way. Easy in easy out. Lowepro Adventura 100 II (I’m pretty sure…

I keep pointing out that I carry my X100 Series camera in the Leica Holster bag. It's a quick draw and save storage at the same time. The only problem is the Leica Holster bag is hard to get these days (discontinued). I have secured a backup.

Congratulations on the new camera, I’m new to Fuji and only got mine recently but I’m really enjoying mine so far.

Personally I like camera bags which are slightly large for the camera they are holding, so plenty of room for other stuff E.g. my phone, reading glasses, a notebook/sketchbook, cables, spare batteries, filters, food, etc. I confess I would not use a man bag, but I love camera bags as they let me easily carry stuff :-) So the two bags I’m using most with my Fuji X100VI are a Bellroy 6l sling or a small Billingham Hadley Pro.

Also worth saying a lot of the time I just taken the Fuji out just with VKO rope strap, no bag and I persuade my wife to carry my spare batteries, glasses, food, etc in her handbag ;-)

If you want a well-made, waterproof small bag that's just for camera plus battery and other small accessories I can recommend the Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 5:

Remove the little divider and it's a near-perfect fit for the X100 range,. With detachable strap or belt mounting it's very fast to use as the outer flap is magnetic, plus there's a zip for better security and better weather sealing.

Can't fault it :-)

My own interpretation of the Leica Shoulder Holster (for the X100V) has been on my patterning table for some time now. I have produced a prototype for the holster body, but need to work out the straps.

Of course once complete I’ll never wear it. 😉

I use an (O.G.) Chrome Nikko sling myself, but I also carry spare batteries, the two conversion lenses and a LightPix Labs Q-Flash in the bag. Sometimes I’ll put the camera and a spare battery into a clean climber’s chalk bag. Or protect it with a Domke wrap and toss it into my day bag.

If I’m not using a larger bag, I’ll usually pocket the camera or keep it on my belt.

The Camera Mate uses a Peak Design Capture Clip to secure the camera.

My current favorite belt carry uses the wrist strap — and nothing else — to carry the camera on the belt.

Basic and light weight.

I recently picked up a Tenba BYOB 7, seems ideal for my needs. Has some room for a couple of spare batteries and a card.

I have the blue flap that’s included positioned so that my Peak Design strap can be crossed over the top and none of the bits touch the camera, while it’s still easy to pull the camera out

Hi, great question. Before offering you my suggestion, I'd suggest first saying whether the X100VI is to fit into a bag with or without fitted accessories.

I have a Fuji weather resistance kit, a small round JJC lens hood, a leather half case and a 120cm rope strap on my X100VI. Consequently it will not fit into the bag I bought with the camera: Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 5. So I returned it. I agree with you that the camera should be capable of ingress/egress a case easily and, in my case, without removing accessories.

If I use a camera case, I use an old Lowepro Apex 100 AW, which accommodates easily the camera with the accessories fitted and an extra battery and SD card and a cloth. I don't think it is made any more, but their Adventura line has similar bags.

I also use a North Face hiking sling for walking as it is a more comfortable carry. Its volume is not stated, but I guess it is about 2 litres. In this case, I put the camera, with fitted accessories , into a neoprene lens pouch 150mm x 100mm (off Amazon), all of which fit fine into the sling, plus a few other bits and bobs for walking.

Hope that helps.

You can get this style bag/holster on eBay:

Ditto. This was exactly the bag I used when I was using X100 series cameras. Was perfect to toss into my work daypack, car's console, or to just throw across a shoulder for an unencumbered walk around town.

I just got back from a two week trip with my x100vi and the peak design 3l everyday sling. Fits the camera comfortably with an adjustable divider. A little space for an extra battery, charger pack, passport, larabar (snacks!), pocket tissues, cable and extra SD card. Not too big at all. Highly recommended.

Check out the sling bags from Peak Design. I own the Everyday 6L sling but there others very suitable for your needs. If I were to do it again, I'd still get the same bag. I can get my XT1 with lens, my XC50 - 230, and two other smaller lens stacked on top of each other.

Occasionally I wish for a larger bag but really the size is just about perfect for day outings. I have 8 bags of various build and uses but the Everyday 6 is the one I use the most with my Fuji gear.
