Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

Love the colours and contrast.

That is a beauty Chris! A nice area to visit as well. That entire area has some beautiful locations. Last time I was there was several years ago when we stayed near Collingwood for a weekend. Used to go to that area often when I was young, skiing at Blue Mountain, fishing at Thornbury too in the summer.

Thanks Chris. It was a first visit to the area for me. I enjoyed it.

Thanks, Andrew. My Dad made us kites. He made big ones which would lift me off the ground when I was a boy. He would stand close to me to grab me if I got lifted or pulled along the ground. I wish I could go back and spend an afternoon with him flying kites, or anything else. He's been gone for 51 years and I miss him every day. Rich

I recon the garden should look colorful…

Well I keep thinking if I was piloting one of those probably end up on thos boulders……no good on driving boats…..lol

A lovely series Rich and some wonderful kites on show. Like you, I used to love flying kites as a kid with my Dad. It was just the old-fashioned traditionally shaped kites in those days though. I tried making one a few years ago but it wasn't a huge success.

Thanks Andrew. There are plans for more restoration work at the church. Work will include roof repairs, replacing the internal plaster and upgrading the lighting and heating.
