Hello

I just bought a S1RII few days ago. I've been trying to use AF lenses (Meike 50/1.8 and Aurora 85 /1.4) but camera always says "Lens attachment failed. Please make sure the lens is attached correctly."

Camera works good with manual lenses.

Any suggestion?

Battery is well positioned, pines are clean, there's no firmware updates pending to run... 🤕

Check the lens firmware.

Both my Aurora 85mm 1.4 came with firmware 0.32 and did not work. After updating the 2nd copy to firmware 1.6 it‘s working flawlessly.

Did you really expect an "Aurora" lens to work properly on an L mount camera? Is that brand even in the L mount alliance? (I've never even heard of "Aurora" lenses.) I think I would get a Panasonic lens for such an expensive Panasonic camera.

Sirui Aurora needs latest firmware. There is another thread in this forum about it.

FYI - I got the Sirui Aurora 85mm F1.4 with firmware version 1.8 and it is working fine.

The Sirui support just sent me firmware 1.9 and said it will be downloadable tomorrow from their support website.

1.9 is a big step up from 1.6 from af point of view 👍

Could you please share the version 1.9? I sent you a PM with my email.

My S1R.2 was a pre-order and I haven’t had an issue with it using it in a protected environment. Yesterday while photographing portraits, the camera was out-in-the-field on a strap swinging against my body being subjected to ‘normal abuse’.

lens attached: LUMIX 70-200 f2.8 PRO

at times my camera lost communication with the lens. I would gently press against the lens mount and communication would restore. I do not perceive any looseness or gap between lens and camera. It was definitely weird behavior and only repeatable when the camera setup bounces against my body when walking.

Honestly get the chance and return, such a thing should never happen!

Same for TTArtisan's AF 75mm f/2 for L-mount, they have a new FW that works fine with S1RII.
Where? It doesn't seem to be listed on their website:

They sent to me directly but it was before the lens was announced. Let me check with them and get back to you

Okay i just checked with them. They said it's not available publicly yet but if anyone needs it you can contact their after sales and they can send to you.

China is currently having their big holiday week right now so my contact will check with the teams after the holiday to see when it will be available on their website.

Wow man. Thanks for your comment. Is your camera L mount? I just checked website, but I didn't find an update for L Mount camera... just Nikon amd Sony

Hey Richard, I watch your show a lot and just started my own “WT-F Jeff” because I’m sure you are dying to check it out! lol I’m sure you see enough camera content. Here’s my issue. I just purchased the S1II and I had a lot of the Meike lenses and none work on this camera. I’m certain it’s a firmware issue because they all work fine on my S9 & s5IIX. All are updated to the latest firmware and so is the camera. Have you spoken to Meike? It would be nice to know if they are working on this? This really sucks because the bulk of my lenses are these Meike lenses. I guess now I am learning why people buy expensive 1st party lenses.

Hey Jeff sorry to hear that. I have chatted to Meike on similar topic it seems they have stopped selling L mount lenses and may not sell again in the future
