Hello there,

I am super new to this. I own a Sony ZV-E10 and have received a great deal on a Konica Minolta AF 75-300 Zoom Lens 4.5-5.6 D lens but I really don't know if this is compatible or what adapter I might need.

Is anyone able to assist, please?

P.S. Is this a decent lens?

Thank you M

A Sony LA-EA2 or LA-EA4 (both have a mirror). Focus performance will not be so fast.

For the cost I would look for a used native E mount lens. I wouldn't invest in an adapter for this lens, even if the lens was free.

See Sonys compatibility checker. So as already stated, LA-EA4 would be best (FF version of LA-EA2). Or any inexpensive manual adapter if you dont want AF. Before you invest its always worth checking other opinions on this lens...

It's an A mount , film era SLR / DSLR lens that's nearly twenty five years old.

It wasn't an especially good lens then , just adequate.

Reasonable on film and the 6mp sensors , not too bad on 10mp .

I had one back then , but wasn't impressed.

But there was better available then , and much better available now .

For what you'll pay for an adapter , you'll be better putting it towards a native E mount lens .

Tamron do one in the same reach , available used for about the same cost as an adapter occasionally.

If you have several good quality A mount lenses , it's worth getting an adapter .

I use some of mine on my a7Riv, but if you don't have them , but native glass .

A good quality A Mount lens with SSM works pretty good with LA-EA3 but beyond that IMHO it's a waste of time and money.

Thank you all for the information.

Any native lens that you would recommend with a range of around 75-300?

It would be worth checking if the Sony ZV-E10 supports the LA-EA5. Compatible bodies can provide screw drive AF which is required for these older lenses. It beats using the LA-EA2 or LA-EA4 which uses a translucent mirror and has its own old auto focus system. If you can use the LA-EA5 you'll get all of the auto focus options as you would with modern E-mount lenses.

If I'm not mistaken the LA-EA2 and LA-EA4 don't even work on the Sony A7IV and newer and you're forced to use the LA-EA5 if you want to use auto focus anyway.

The lens in question is still a mediocre lens , not really worth bothering with .

Certainly not worth buying the adapter for .

The LA-EA5 won't improve the lens . It's not the AF that's the problem, it's the optics .

If the OPs buying anything, their better off just buying native lenses and have done with it .
