Hi!

I was in Nashville for a conference (had never been there before) but did have a little time to walk around and snap a few pictures.

Took the 35 1.2S, Plena and 24-120 with me.

(Wish I had taken a flash for a little fill- in on some shots)

Still trying to get used to shooting with the 35 1.2S.

Lots of mistakes on my part dealing with DOF, optimizing backgrounds, etc, but getting better

One of the nice things about photography is that it gives my something to do while accompanying my wife to a local fabric shop":

Of course, I couldn't bring my good nikon photo equipment into some venues.

But; here's one from the Grand Ole Opre' (Taylor Hicks) taken with an iPhone 16 Pro Max

Wish I had the Z8/Plena for these...

First outing with the 14-24mm. The corners and edges are impressive, which is great when you want strong foregrounds.

These were two shots I took in February of this year, but never got around to editing them until today. I was looking for downed branches or trees to process for a camp fire, when from the corner of my eye I saw something moving on the ground. And there it was, a little toad sheltering from the rain/wind storm we were in.

Both shot on my Z8 and Plena.

Shiloh Battlefield Michigan Memorial

Fort Donelson Enforcer

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit the battlefields at Fort Donelson and Shiloh in Tennessee. It was also the opportunity to check out my new Z8. I am not disappointed

. This past Monday was the anniversary of the Shiloh battle - The first of a number to shock the country with the massive casualty numbers produced (around 23k). It was also an early meeting of the minds of U.S. Grant and Gen. Sherman.
