At the time FujiRumors posted this we did not know if even one of these lenses would become reality.

However we now know that the (#4) 23mm pancake is coming this year.
So what is the most logical next choice for a new Fujinon?
I think (and hope), it is the XF16-200 for which Fujifilm already has a patent.
This would be an excellent replacement for the now decade old XF 18-135mm and would be different than anything currently available in the X-mount, including third party lens makers.
I think it's time Fuji put more focus on continuing to refresh the current lineup. If they are going to do 3 lenses a year for example- one new and two refreshes, or some similar ratio.
A 16-200 seems like too much of a compromise given the reviews on the other super zooms out there as mentioned. Maybe a 16-135, or even 16-120 at f/4 (or variable aperture) at red badge, or near red badge quality. If not a 16-120, then a 16-80 refresh (or 15-70/80 ish).
I envy Nikon shooters with the 24-120 (especially given what looks like a decent size for full frame). I've also mentioned before some envy for the old Canon ef-s 15-85mm range (and thought about adapting it with fringer adapter). It was considered near L-level quality at the time it was released. The 18-135 and 16-80 are not usually given as top reasons to get into, or stay with t Fuji system- and they should be.
I think it's also time for 100-400 refresh to try and reduce size/weight (if possible) and increase quality. This makes sense to me, given the release and positive response to the 500mm and 150-600. Makes the 100-400 look outdated.
Another refresh waiting for an upgrade is probably the 10-24, given its hit or miss reputation for image quality. APS-C is always a challenge on the wide end- make it less so.
A new lens that I think is missing is a 50-140 (or similar) f/4 constant. If not 50-140, closer to 50/60/70-250, although maybe that would be too close to the 55-200. There seems a hole in the lineup between the 50-140 and 55-200.
Some type of prime beyond 90mm makes sense. 105/120 ish.
A Fuji native wide prime that would work for astro- somewhere between the 8-14 range at f/1.4 or f/1.8 makes sense as well.
My personal sense of Fuji is less need for new focal ranges compared to giving the current line up a better business/reputation case.
Gonna go look for my magic 8 ball now.
