LOL! You could have knocked me over with a feather when someone posted that pixel test! Man, if I havent' noticed a freak pixel and nobody's pointing one out to me, I sure dang well don't want to be told!!!!!!! LOL! Next I'll take a look at my face under a microscope! GAK!

If it's one thing that infuriates me, it's any group of any type that secludes themselves with thier own organizations, and thier own awards, and then complains that they're being pigeonholed! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Well geez, then why don't they start threads on those topics! The guys all jumped in when I started teh "What are you thinking when you're shooting" and the "what makes it 'fine art' threads. I've had some really great discussions here. I guess like everything else, you get out of it what you put into it. I'm grateful to be here and I love all the input and opinions and advice. This is my favorite place to hang out on the web!

I've been around dpreview for awhile. There were few women in the
Canon forum, a few in the Oly SLR forum (several who have moved
here or the 1D forum) and I feel there are more here than
previously, but also---several of my 'old' friends have moved to
the 1D or 1Ds or just moved away from dpreview to other forums.
Some of them are image focused instead of gear focused. I spend
some time on both Fred Miranda's and Rob Galbraith's forums also.
In all honesty, I'm sort of tired of talking gear and more
interested in technique (processing, critique, etc).

I do feel there are lots of women out there shooting every day--but
many are just less interested in 'gear' than the men LOL.

I've got a huge list of noted photogs here and there's barely a women on it. I only once ever saw a pro woman photog anywhere. I've never been shot by a woman photog.

I'd say it too if I cuold ever spell ridiculous right! LOL! I never hung out with the girls in the living room at parties, I'd be in the kitchen, drinking and having a blast iwth the guys. Didnt' care for girl-talk one ounce until I became a mother. Since then there's been tons of talk about breastfeeding. So where does that put me..... not so far off from the guys... I'm even talking about breasts!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

And you must love my wit and charm! ;)

But I guess some things (eg, child-birth, breast-feeding, etc) really DO separate the gals from the guys. ;)

But I couldn't even have bought my gear if I hadnt' arrived here first! I didnt' know an f-stop from a truck stop! But you guys all educated me enough that the camera shop guy was pretty impressed that I asked all the right questions! :) You can't actually take the pix if you don't have any gear! LOL! Once here for the gear edu I wasn't about to walk away from an education at my fingertips! I ton of talented people willing to answer every question, share their tips, give their critiques? You can't pay for this kind of input! It's precisely b.c of this forum that I am rocketing forward as fast as I am! Ask DavidP... he's the one that pointed me in the direction of Understanding Exposure . It was a complete revelation to me! To have at my fingertips a resource of this magnatude, to get virtually instant feedback for my most significant jam or whimsical questions..... it's unbelieveable to me! I cherish this forum!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything anyone wants to know is just here for the asking! I'd be a fool to leave! This forum is treasure!
