Some awkward ‘bro’ handshakes, but very interesting.

- Built-in 4-stop ND filter

- Very Leica-looking with the clean lines and square hood

- The rear element of the lens is very close to the sensor plane

- I want one

Fujifilm is going to have two serious winners in those new cameras.

The GFX100 RF is beautiful as far as industrial design is concerned. Finally!

We already know what image quality to expect from GF lens design. Can't wait to see images from this fixed lens.

I agree. Seems like a homerun.

$4,899 at B&H.

$6,999.99 in Canada, which is a relief - I thought it would be at least $7K.

Why do they keep showing the camera with the hood on while they did such an amazing job creating such a small lens?! Wonderful design.

Looks a lot like my Bronica RF645

That last element is extremely close to the sensor. Fuji being Fuji I expect they have that all sorted and under control, but I'm curious to see samples.

lol 1 dollar less in Canada :P I'd have to buy this second hand someday in Canada, not sure if i would even do that. I love the size of my x100vi. Waiting for XE5 announcement.

A very wooden documentary but a fascinating exploration of a unique and innovative camera design.

Love some of the features like the aspect ratio dial and the layout of the controls. It's a beautiful camera.

I think I'm in love...!

Fujifilm has some brilliant designers and engineers, but sadly not one decent presenter. However, I did watch the whole thing and was impressed.

Interesting review.

"It's all about cropping to get increased focal length, not shallow DOF"

Hi,

What I want to know is: Does this sensor have a differently designed microlens array? One that specifically lines up with the ray output of that lens.

it might be a while before we find out.

It's like a super sized X100 :-)

Although I think having that large rear element is probably mostly about making sure light is hitting the sensor at a less extreme angle.

I thought it was tastefully subdued and refined in feel.
Well... I think it tried to be that but needed a professional presenter to give it some polish.
À Chacun Son Goût.
Bien sûr.
No I liked the presentation. They are humans that make stuff. Not actors trying to sell you something.

Yes that means they read lines, rather than act them, but I like this style for company product releases. Seems more genuine, even if it isn't.

I don't quite understand the need for a fixed lens 100mp camera. It would appeal to me much more if it had interchangeable lenses a la gfx 50r.
