Hm. If the AF is as fast and quiet, and the aperture ring as solid-feeling, as the 23/2, then it has some appeal. If it’s more like the 27/2.8 with a different focal length then it’s not for me. Really I’d prefer a 27/2 in the physical form of the 16/2.8 🙂

Pretty sure no-one can complain that there aren’t enough 23mm options in Fuji land, though.

Not much info there... the thing could be a 23mm f/8 lens for all anyone knows. So, what is it? An f/2.8? or what? Hard to say "YIPPEE" without know what it will be.

I would expect it to be a f2.8 lens. So one stop slower than the the current XF 23mm f/2.

An X-Pro4 Monochrome with this lens on it wouldn't be boring at all!

If it was 2.8 or less and had a proper aperture ring with numbers on, then I'd probably buy it and sell my X100VI

Let's hope it will be f/2 lens. Canon made such a pancake lens for apsc sensor, so it is not that it can't be done.

I really hope it's f/2. I'm trapped on the discontinued M system and part of it is because that lens is amazing. If Fuji came out with a 23 f/2 pancake that might seal the deal for me to make the switch.

You'd be surprised how good the 27mm pancake is. I've got the M 22mm on an M100 and my XT-5 blows it away

I'd really like to see a V2 of the 18 F2.

The original one looks great, renders nicely and so much more compact than the 1.4.

Same here. The 23 f/2 is already small, so smaller than that means slower lens.

Em.. XF 23mm F2.8 R WR OIS which bundle with Fuji X-E5 (26MP sensor without IBIS) cost $999

Likely so. But it will suit some people I’m sure and be a popular addition to the XF family

I've been forever contemplating whether to get 23mmf2 as I have 23m1.4 R but sometimes focus is just not enough.

So yeah, if faster focus and WR then I wouldn't mind if 2.8 at all.

Not necessarily so. As suggested previously in the thread, the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 is significantly smaller than Fuji's 23mm f/2.

I don't really get it myself, and i find it even more baffling when people describe the existing XF23mm f2 as 'too big and heavy'..... You have to wonder if some of these people have ever done a days manual work when they make ridiculous statements like this.

Much like this fixed lens GFX, i feel Fuji could be pooling their resource into much more needed items in the lineup.
