Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

Thanks WN.

Cranes are found in Ontario breeding about this time of year or a bit later. A few hours north of us there are some breeding areas for cranes, tundra swans and trumpeter swans. The numbers crossing Lake Erie and heading north nearby are very large.

A very good portrait of the vendor Nick. Selling food I take it since I see a container of implements of some sort on the top of the 'cart'. Maybe some libations as well.

What the Hell, Andrew? I think this is one of your strengths. I like those portly cranes. All those birds in just one day. You are lucky and I've found luck the most necessary ingredient for shooting birds. Rich

Collaboration. I posted this on in the last thread. It had some aberrations which I couldn't see. Andrew used his forte in PP and fixed it up very nicely indeed!

Also, I agree with Andrew's urologist, who said, "He is young for his age and his strength is as that of ten men because his heart is pure." I'm damned if I know how a urologist deduced that considering what he's a lookin' at. 🫣 Rich

A lovely day and beautiful light for your leg-stretcher Dave. Nice pictures too, with the EM1x. I don't think I would have wanted to carry it around with me for that distance though

Thanks Andrew. Those bales are either hay or silage.

It's probably one of my favourite areas for a hike Rich and only about 45 miles away.

Dave

Thanks Pete. The EM1X is one of my favourite cameras. Beautifully made and for me ergonomically perfect. The weight however makes me think twice about taking it on long hikes. If I was still climbing mountains it would almost certainly be left behind.

The Gardens in Derbyshire opened this week for the new season. All the topiary has been nicely shaped over the winter and the first flowers are starting to appear.
