Every time you rename a product line, you're throwing some of your pre-existing marketing effort out of the window. It is not something you want to deploy in a market that customers are generally LOSING interest in unless you have a very, very, very good reason. They could also just go to a naming convention like OM, where the number represents the “level” of camera and “Mark II” indicates the generation. So, PEN-F could be the top of the line, PEN-5 could be midrange, etc. I don’t think with todays market having a lot of different levels of PENs is feasible, in any case.Well, the regular P series has moved downmarket with the E-P7, and smartphones have moved up. I doubt there is much of a market to sustain the PL and PM series. But only OM Systems knows…That would close the lid on E-PL and E-PM or any other similar series. I would be very surprised if they cut themselves off like that. The Olympus PEN E-PL10 in particular is from Q4, 2019 - not much older than the E-M10 IV!I don’t think the original source said anything about a PEN-F, just ‘PEN series’. That will probably be the E-P7 successor: the budget 4/3 model. I hope they finally ditch the outdated E-P naming, though, and just call it PEN 8. (even numbers for PEN cameras)
