Just saw your post. I have had a GX8 for years and can't seem to find a half case for it. Your link is no longer active. If you see this, and have any recommendations I'd sure appreciate it. Also, the eyepiece sounds interesting. It's different from the orig?

I have two, one fully operational the other with a broken rear screen. I only use the one that has the viewfinder only, and find once the camera is setup, I don't need the rear screen.

I have long since given up hope on an upgrade to this remarkable camera. Thought the S9 was going to be the camera I wanted, but no mech shutter, no flash and no EVF doomed it from the start.

I have an a7cr that I now use most of the time, and I always see it as a missed opportunity for Lumix . I do enjoy seeing others appreciate the GX8 as much as I do.

I’ve never seen a half-case for the GX8. Try googling.

That’s the Panasonic extended eyecup.

GX8 Extended Eyecup DMW-EC3GU

Mine tore and I keep it together with electrical tape.
Haven’t been able to find a replacement.

I can't agree about the viewfinder. It's great when you're not outside when it's bright. In the sun it's quite terrible, much too dark, almost unusable. If you have glasses you're screwed. Other than that and the lame IBIS (but Dual IS is great), I really like it, great and fun camera.

You seem to be someone else who might like the extended eye-cup. It changes the whole GX8 experience from "good" to "great", even "surreal". Couldn't live without mine.

You might find one HERE , though Jeff may have just bought the last one in stock 🤣

Wow I had no idea this exists, thanks. It's sold out everywhere.. DMW-EC5 can still be found, but it's for GX9 only.

For me it's no tilt screen (and VF) no deal. I rather deal with a slightly lesser sensor as the ones in my older EM-1, EM-5 or GX7 but won't get anything with a FAS (I don't do videos). YMMV.
