Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

Thanks for liking the surreal # 2, Dicky. It is the result of being rained in and bored and throwing lots of PP at it, along with the kitchen sink. NIK HDR Efex is fun to use if reality is not necessary. Rich

I like the weird little lens so much, Andrew, that I'm almost ashamed that I got it at half price. 🤑 I almost dropped it on pavement as the lens release problem the Z8 was recalled for has come back. Originally the button would not release the lens. Now it won't lock unless I line the tang and hole up and snap the lens release button several times. The lens hoods on the Nikon lenses attach clockwise, but the lenses attach to the camera counterclockwise, which is stupid and annoying. So, attaching the hood while the lens was (supposedly) locked onto the camera turned the not locked lens the direction to remove the lens. It just fell out of the camera and I was left holding the hood and I surprised myself by moving fast and catching the lens with the free hand against my lower legs. Fortunately, my legs were in just the right position to do this. The other thing recalled was lens strap lugs pulling out of the camera. I put the strap on just the left lug and now I'm worried about that. I wish I'd bought a Sony. Rich

No allergies in our household I'm pleased to report Andrew. This plant grew at an alarming rate. There may be a trace of triffid in it.

Dave

Amaryllis is a very common house plant in these parts WN. This one was a present from a friend and has grown very quickly. Nothing to do with me of course, I was instructed to leave well alone.

Dave

Thanks Pete and also apologies for subjecting you to Tony Christie in your head.

Thankfully it has run out of puff and we are in the clear.

The falcons saw it coming and moved to safer ground.

Thanks WN, we are to the north and it has been a pussycat up here; down south it has been a tiger.

Teh forecast was bad for today so I didn't go in the see the Boss, I should have ignored the forecast it was just mild drizzle all day - Scotch mist really.

Dicky.

It's eye is going over the top of us - so no harm done.

Dicky.

The ring of cloud marks the northern edge of the eye.

Another mild day here. The Gold Coast took the brunt of the storm and a quarter of a million people are without power. They now have to cope with torrential rain if the eye moves inland. It is currently sat stationary over the sea about 20k from here. But it is now category one and losing power as the hours tick by. It will still deliver an awful lot of rain to the south.

Dicky.

Must be nice to have some good news at long last, Dicky.
