Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

Thanks Dicky. No doubt the volunteer thought the machinery was a shredder! An old school printing press for very small publications. It is jammed up and he is trying to clear the jams. He was not having fun!

Andrew

You have an electric bike Dave! Potato potatto! Not the fork and handle bar style though. It weighs a lot less and will not go as fast but the fall would be just as problematic! So DON'T FALL!

Andrew

Thanks WN.

That bike took a very long time to do. No Ai selection, all hand done at two to four hundred percent. I said afterwards I would never do another. I did do another but it was much less complicated than that one.

Andrew

Well that could be fun, maybe, about a half century ago Dicky! Nice to see though! I prefer a quiet walk along a beach at this stage in life.

Andrew

All nicely done Dave. Now was it raining while you were shooting these? Don't fall on the rocks!

There are a few small waterfalls around in Norfolk county but not many. The city of Hamilton, where I grew up, claims to be the city of waterfalls with over 100 near by. I have shot a few but not anywhere near that number. The Niagara escarpment runs along and through the city and there are numerous falls that I have seen but still no where near the claimed over 100!

Andrew

The spring beauties are lovely WN. The ground here will thaw in the next couple of days. My computer told me it was plus 10 C but it lied. It is plus 2. A big difference! I like the last. The RBG has a special event on this coming week but it is only in one park and it still too early to go there as there will not be anything in bloom outdoors here yet.

Andrew

You are getting your money's worth out of that lens Rich. Sunshine, not much of that here recently. A lot of dull overcast skies. They were clear overnight though as the stars were out!

Andrew

Glad it is in your house and not mine Dave! Both my wife and I would be running for the outdoors!

Lovely flowers but the scent is overpowering for people with alergies!

Andrew

Did anyone inform the falcons Dicky?? We get strong winds from time to time, and every few years a tornado may pass through southern Ontario someplace but generally we don't get really bad storms, other than an occasional snowfall.

Nice view, calm before the storm perhaps.

Andrew

I really like the calm composition of the first WN. I could sit and admire that to pass an hour. Nice to see the spring flowers too.

I would avoid that malcontent in the last pic - he is obviously intent on throwing a spanner in the works :-D

****.
Thanks for stopping by, Dicky ... I think that spanner hit the intended target!! ... but we'll recover soon ...

The cherry blossom is always nice to see at the start of spring WN. The Spring Beauties are indeed beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by, Pete ... Those blossoms were nice for the day but were gone in the freeze that night ... but some had not opened and so some or or parts of the trees now have more blossoms ... I should find a few more Spring Beauties and maybe a better light and position along the wild flower trail, if we get there later this month ...

A lovely place for a walk on such a beautiful day WN. I love to see cherry blossom as it makes me feel winter is over, which is not always true of course.
It was a good walk, thanks Dave
I like the little guy in the last image. I could do with the help of a few like him in the garden
There are about a half dozen or so that seem to travel about the gardens in late winter. Don't think they do (and maybe avoid) any work ... they at their best only kibitz ....
Is the tearoom open yet?
Actually the one tea room we had several years ago moved back to England!!! ... So we have to make our own and I just happen to have a pot over here ... So get a cup and sit down for a while ...

Thanks for stopping by, Andrew ....
The spring beauties are lovely WN.
That was the best that I could do with this day and this set ....

It is really too early here but I'm a member of the BG so I go every month for at least one walk along the trails. ... and I'm afraid this post was just to say hello ....

Nice picture Dave and beautiful plant .. wandering about Google it would seem that the Amaryllis occupies a special place in Scotland with a restaurant and an Amaryllis Guesthouse in prominent cities there ...

Hope this is not problem for you .. I guess a Cyclone spins clockwise putting the surge and major storm problems to the south . .. Stay well ..

AutoPano has more projection choices than ICE, Andrew, plus a Pannini projection which is adjustable. ICE does not include EXIF data and that annoys me as I like to have EXIF show in posts.

Our productive storms so far this winter have come from Hawaii so no snow on the local mountains. When we get a storm from the Gulf of Canada which sagged and missed Canada, a Canadian Missed, I calls it, we get snow....You may notice I have changed the name from The Gulf of Alaska to The Gulf of Canada. I hope this catches on and gives Fatso more incontinence.

I hope you get some birds and warm weather soon.

The same pano done with ICE. I tried all the projections and all kept the curve. It's that weird little lens. I like it and will try Dicky's suggestion to try it in vertical for a pano. Rich
