Maybe this is old news, but just a heads up for anyone looking for a deal on the Panasonic 50mm f/1.8, B and H is selling them for $248 new (other stores might have them for the same price or less).

That's the same price that MPB sells them for used in "Like New" condition. KEH sells them used for $259

Fingers crossed the 85mm f/1.8 goes on sale for around $250 some time soon (a man can dream, can't he???)

Dreaming is possible, but for the 85 I will expect always a higher price as for the 50…

I'm loving these S primes, especially in a kit deal. I am having a blast taking out the 35/50/85 S primes when I don't want to carry the 2.8 zooms but need something brighter than the 28-200.

I presume all the 1.8s are built to the same standard, the 50 has wx seals?

Yes, the S line 1.8 FF lenses have some seals. I've not tested the sealing, but I am assuming splash and rain resistant. I'm not holding back in wet weather.

I picked mine up for free with a Panasonic promo with the S9. You can get it free even with a discounted kit lens.

Also I picked up a 20-60 from MPB for $200 like new. I guess they're flooded with kit lens trade-ins.

Good to know!!!

Yeah, the bundled prices with the kit lens and / or the 50mm f/1.8 was the main reason I stuck with Lumix when I bought my S5 IIX. I had been thinking of instead getting the Znikon Z6 III (a VERY good camaera in its own right) but the dynamic range loss and the flickering in N-RAW scared me off.

I figured at the price of the kit $2,200 for the s5 iix, AND the 20-60mm AND the 50mm f/1.8. even if I change my mind later, I could still probably recoup the investment on the LENSES, even if I lost a bit on re-selling the S5 IIX itself.

I don't think Lumix gets enough credit for this series of lenses. It's a really well-thought-out series of great lenses. Solid build quality, relatively compact and lightweight, weather sealed, great image quality, relatively inexpensive... what's not to like? There's really no comparison to something like the f/1.8 Nikkor Z primes which I found really disappointing - too big, slow and noisy focusing, etc.

I love my 18mm F1.8! I also have the 35mm F1.8 and 50mm F1.8. I really want the 24mm F1.8 next.

The 18 is probably next on my list since I primarily use L-Mount for wide angle work - looks like a great lens!

I don't know if I have a good copy or they're all like that, but the 18mm is one of my favorite lenses. It's sharp, light, wide, f1.8 and the pictures come out so good!
