Pony tails could be a young guy's. Additionally, welding tends to be male dominated. It isn't like the viewer can tell the sex of the welder. Would you name it, "Man Welder" if the subject had external gonads?
Totally pointless and crude, thanks for looking? It isn't like the viewer can tell the sex of the welder. Would you name it, "Man Welder" if the subject had external gonads?
Looks a little over-recovered. There's no detail in the whites, so might as well let them go to 255
Hi, can you go into some detail? I’m not sure what you mean. The arc is about 8000 degrees Fahrenheit, and extremely bright so I won’t have any detail there with the exposure set for the welderLooks a little over-recovered. There's no detail in the whites, so might as well let them go to 255
When I say "let them go to 255", I mean let the white values clip. It's supposed to be bright, but you pulled the highlight recovery slider so far that it made your whites turn gray.Hi, can you go into some detail? I’m not sure what you mean. Thanks for taking the time to explain. That makes sense, and looks better. I’ve been photographing for 35 years, but only started messing around in Lightroom about a year ago so I appreciate the critique and comments. When I say "let them go to 255", I mean let the white values clip. In the top one, I just pulled the curves back so the whites clipped again to give it much more sense of "that's bright", where as the bottom one because of that over recovery, it looks overprocessed.
It's an amazing capture, with excellent focus, wide open, no less. Did you focus on the welding rod? Thanks for taking the time to explain. That makes sense, and looks better. That's what came to my mind. Flying sparks can do lot of damage!Nice shot.
One safety thing. Maybe it was done for shot to show welder is a she. Welder should be, at least, wearing a welding head cap, even with full face hood. Pony tails towards front and semi-open neck is what caught my attention.
Times were changing in our company about 30-years ago. We had several female computer engineers. And I don't mean kind like Big-blue had where they were called out with a module in hand to go swap. Kind of engineer, which was called out to go figure out which one of modules was the problem. No easy task when multiple CPUs have common memory. Thanks for the comments and safety tips. She was wearing a skull cap, but her pig tales stuck out. Was shot for a job. I see a significant number of females getting in to what was in the past male dominated fields and doing very well. Fields like welding, electricians, carpenters, auto mechanics etc, times are changing.
