We stopped briefly on Skyline Drive Shenandoah Natl. Park Virginia on February 14. It was cold, windy (but very sunny) so I didn't take many photos. I shot both the fpL with Lumix lens and SD Quattro+18-300mm.

In winter there are often notable ice formations by this tunnel from water seeping through the rocks. This is a severe crop of the fpL photo, original DNG was 107.20MB This crop is 4.51MB! That's a crop! I use Canon DPP4 to crop Sigma-processed photos.

The Sun was blocked by clouds but the sky was pretty enough anyway. I took three vertical shots and ended up with a 5:4 final image after stitching and cropping. Lens was a 1963 Jupiter-3, 50mm f/1.5, stopped down to f/5.6.

Stepped outside yesterday and heard a loud tapping sound coming from the neighbor's yard. After a bit of searching I discovered a small woodpecker was trying his luck in one of the trees. Happened to have the 70-300 to hand and managed to catch him before he flew off. Still happy with the original S1R's ability to find and hold focus ...

Late February Milky Way with a couple of old trucks in a pasture in Blaine County, Oklahoma. Lots of light pollution and foreground lighting from some nearby oilfield lights.

Lovely scene with the two trucks in different distances. Still waiting for the clouds to clear in Greece to shoot the early spring milky way arch.

Beautiful image. Is this an ooc jpeg from the S9 with a lut, or a processed raw?
