Playing around with some flowers earlier today. The 'Creative Dial' makes fun shots like this easy.

I'm glad you like yours. It is a fun camera to use.

Many people like the Pen-F. I liked mine at the time, but the AF was the thing that kept me from keeping it. I do regret it slightly, but I think the OM-3 will do what I wanted the Pen-F to do. I just wish it was as small and a rangefinder style.

I bought mine, very lightly used, in 2020. I love it. Auto focus I've only ever found to be a marginal issue in very low light. The size, handling, IQ, creative dial, enjoyment factor are all sky high for me. People are always interested in knowing if it is a film camera. Very unobtrusive, I use it with anything from the 12mm f2 to the 75-300 zoom. My favourite combo, and incredibly versatile is the PEN-F and Olympus 45mm f1.8.

Glorious!

To be fair I didn't really have much issues with the Pen-F AF except for some really dark areas (attended a photography event at a hotel ballroom recently). For scenarios like that, MF is probably the way to go.

When I had my Pen F I too found the creative dial to be the best feature of the camera, particularly the mono profiles. I did sell it in favor of the better performance of the E-M5 III and now the OM-5, but still miss that mono profile 2.

I am glad you like your Pen F...we all should like our camera selection. The good news is that you can achieve the same results with many of OM Systems cameras, including the OM3 which totally outclasses and outperforms the Pen F

I just "upgraded" from my E-P5 to the Pen F. I owned one back in 2019 and sold it and I have regretted that ever since. For me the size and handling are perfect. I shot SLR and DSLR for years but I always wanted the small, rangefinder style of camera which I very much enjoyed for about 15 years with a number of the E-P series.

If the E-P5 had an EVF it would have been perfect but I finally decided to go for the Pen F.

It has all the features that I want. Wish it had the tilt-out LCD like the E-P5. The one I picked up had less than 4K shutter actuations so I am hoping it will be with me for a long time.

A bit unnecessary, that last part of your statement. Especially when the OP is not asking for a comparison between his Pen-F and the other OM Systems cameras.

Yes, even the Mark 1 E-M1 can outperform the Pen-F in some scenarios, for less than 250 USD.

But my question to you is... so?

It may be a bit harsh, in some people’s eyes, but it may also be a reaction to all the complaints that the new OM-3 isn’t a Pen Fii and is therefore unworthy of being produced.

This is more the frustration on this forum.... it seems that there is a "VERY" vocal minority that speaks to the PEN F and won't even give a second thought to anything but.

I am tired of them. I know what a Pen F is....as I have the original PEN F Half Frame Film and I had the Pen F digital too. It's life man. The world goes on. Enjoy the Pen F but don't rain on every single parade that comes along (OM System or otherwise) that doesn't have the reincarnation of the Pen F as the goal.

Lots of ambassador reviewers thought it was useful to compare the OM3 with the Pen-F. It is almost, as if a reference to the Pen-F was in the "need to mention" script they got from OM marketing. That created expectations that were found to be unfounded. Had there been no such comparisons in the first place, nobody would have cared to reject them.

I have the PEN F and EP-7. It's just because the new OM-3 also has a Creative Dial. They are all quite different and the EP-7 suffers from all kinds of insults on the forum. I like my PEN F, but it will get even less use now as the OM-3 is on order.

I get tired of the attacks on new cameras everytime they come out. So, now you live with it and now and then call someone out on it when they make comments that you don't like. Some of the comments are real doozies. Sometimes it's good to take a break from this place, too.

Nice what you did. I especially like the second photo. I like my PEN F because of the Creative Dial most of all. And of course it is a really nice looking camera.

You need a serious attitude adjustment.

I never suggested anything about any other camera models. I simply said that I like my Pen-F, primarily because the Creative Dial makes customizing image profiles so simple.

I happen to be very impressed with the OM-3 for the very same reason.

You could have very easily ignored my post, rather than make 'snarky' comments.
