This is the official english channel. It's happening.Looks like an official teaser from OM System.
IS it me or it looks to be larger than the current OM-5?
Yes from earlier photo leaks it looks wider, and from the new photos it looks also thicker. I guess it need to be this big to support the same sensor as in OM-1 in term of heat.IS it me or it looks to be larger than the current OM-5?
It looks to be about as wide as the OM-1, simply without a front grip. The buttons are more spread out on the back of the camera as well, it really looks like a larger camera.
I mean when you think about it, it makes sense. If they refresh the E-M10IV in an OM-10, we would have :I was thinking exactly the same thing. The body seems to be significantly larger than an OM-5, for example. At first I thought that OMDS was abandoning the OM5 and replacing it with the OM-3. The OM5 could then be positioned even lower, more like the E-M10. But since it seems to be much bigger, I now think that the OM-3 will be a kind of Nikon ZF of OMDS and maybe an OM-5 II will follow with lower specs and still a plastic body.
Oh yeah. It's not close. Very much E-M1 / OM-1 size but without the grip as I theorized. I wonder what battery they'll use in it. There should be room for the OM-1's battery if the camera is thicker?
The original OM1 film camera was 136 mm x 83 mm x 50. The OM-5 is 125 x 85 x 50 mm while the OM-1 is 135 x 92 x 73 mm.IS it me or it looks to be larger than the current OM-5?

The back is really ugly compared to the clean design of the front! The overly complex geometries near the upper dials don't fit the overall aesthetics.I really like the front view of the camera.
HOWEVER that back side looks like a Fiat Multipla. What were the designers thinking with all these indents?
I don't think we will get an OM-5II like the E-M5II used to be. The E-M5 always had the top tier specs of the E-M1 in the past. Ever since the E-M5 III was made of plastic under Olympus, it has been clear that a metal body in this price range is not profitable enough. I think that's why OMDS decided to add an OM-3 with a metal body to the product line to be able to charge a higher price. An OM-5II will probably come this year only with USB-C connection, without further changes. The original OM1 film camera was 136 mm x 83 mm x 50. The OM-5 is 125 x 85 x 50 mm while the OM-1 is 135 x 92 x 73 mm.
If the OM-3 is based on the original OM1, then it would be wider than the OM-5.
Personally, I don't get the point of that camera. It's not the Pen-F update that some have been wanting, but it's got no grip and has the silly Art dial. The Art dial is positioned where the timer was; someont thought hey, we need something here so let's put the Art dial on and see if that placates the Pen-F crowd? But that means they dropped the front function button.
Which means I won't be buying it. Hopefully a lot of people will. I hope it doesn't ruin the company, because I would really like an update to the OM-5. Because that camera body is, in my opinion, the best design for a small body camera. And it feels great in my hands.
