Got one of these for my Z50II, fits OK.

Silver areas were removed with a hand file. Taller ridges on either side of lens mount are kept as is.

I used the old vlogging bracket from my original Z50 (sold). It is not a full height L bracket, so it may not be what you need. I already had one and just filed down some areas shown in the second picture. The ridges on the bottom plate were easy, but shaving down the front and back of the upright side took a bit longer. If you are careful the exposed metal areas will all be hidden when attached to the camera.

Pros:

- The new grip on the Z50ii is a big improvement, and this makes it even better. Not Z8 size, but works for my smaller hands

- A hand strap can be easily attached to different mounting points, without constricting thumb and finger movement. Great for overhead or other one hand shots (see pic) and bigger lenses. The hand strap also makes it easier to take selfies (which may be popular in this segment)

Cons:

- bracket must be removed to access battery and SD card.

- not Arca-Swiss

I would love it if one of the manufacturers can address the Cons, but this is working for now

The Small Rig store on eBay has them. You can buy just the base plate or the entire cage.

I'm not interested in cages, or just bases. I don't have a Z50II yet, but I use an L bracket on my bodies. I'm sure eventually they'll appear, I was just wondering if anyone had seen any yet.

I have a Z50ii on order hopefully shipping mid January. I plan to use ProMediaGear PBX3 baseplate and PLX3x Vertical plate. The vertical plate connects to the PBX3 and you can adjust the distance it extends to the left of the body. I use the same setup on my Z8. You can also swap the PLX3x with a PLX3T which offsets the vertical plate forward plus provides a cold shoe on top. Made in the USA.

Anyone found anything yet?

Currentlyim just using an Arca plate that came with a ballhead.

It took a bit of experimenting to get it set well but it works quite well with one unavoidable issue, which is the flippy screen. You can get it to do front facing if you flip the screen out 90 degrees to the body and than swing it all the way out. What you can't do is swing it all the way out and flip the screen for an overhead or low shot, because ANY L Bracket will interfere with flipping the screen. This means that if you want to shoot an overhead or low shot you will have to position the screen to that 90 degree position and work with that. Sony has provided a solution to this issue on the A1 II by adding an additional pivot to the rear screen so it can to both tilt and flip. Note, on any body with a Flippy Screen you will want to mount the bracket a bit frontward on the base plate so the hinge will allow the screen to swing all the way to the 180 degree position.

BTW, Below is a link to the Nikon web page for the Lexie L Bracket and you can see how if fits on the Z30 to get an idea of how it will work. Based on my experience with my Zf I expect that you will find it will work very well on your camera. I will also note that it was out of stock at Adorama or B&H in the color I wanted so I ordered it direct from 3 Legged Thing in England on December 24 and received it on January 15. A fair bit of that time was spent at Customs in Chicago where it sat for at least 5 days. All in all it was a bit of a wait but not horrible.

I would assume the bracket would need to be mounted more forward and that screen usage might be compromised

I might wait a bit and see if anything else comes out.

I sure wish Nikon would integrate arca-swiss bevels into their camera designs and add a few mounting points. I got tired of buying new plates for every new camera, and I went through several cameras and brands after Covid going mirrorless... (I still would like to see the Nikon version of the A7IV, but the Z6III and Z50 will do.) For now I use the PMG universal.

I have their QD connector (bulky and the large button can be pressed by accident.) I also use it with my Peak straps. It is nice to remove the L-bracket (fully adjustable, with a magnetic Allen wrench storage) when not needed.

BUT... I still prefer the slim and lighter design of Smallrig. The one that went ton the Z30 was SO nicely done. You might need to go with a cage or another universal design. I'm considering selling one of my PMGUB kits.

Good luck!

As I stated above, if you are looking at PMG, get the PBX3 base plate and the PLX3T vertical plate which is offset to allow access to the camera ports and lets the display swing out .

You can adjust the distance the vertical plate is from the camera. The bottom plate has a QD port.

I was missing a QD on my Z30 and I solved it this way...
...adding that small plate to the SmallRig L Bracket extension.

It's from Amazon for 20€ > https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B09F1W42GQ

I have that same green plate. Unfortunately it doesn't fit the Z50II properly. The anti rotation tab blocks the rear screen. And without the tab, it has no rubber to prevent rotation.

Until something better becomes available. Disappointed in SmallRig just offering a base plate. They offer an L bracket for the Fuji X-S20 which is the same size as the Z50ii.
