If the 10D is truly discontinued then I believe we would see an
upgrade to it at the same price, but would also see another entry
at the $1999 price.
I believe the top of the Canon DSLR line will be at $2500 by 2006.
This means the bottom of the DSLR line will be $599-799.

--No offense, but it seems like ALL rumors are from Mr. ReliableThe next version of 10D is at least 6 months away.
Most likely announced at Photokina 28.sept-3.oct. 2004.
I got this from a reliable source.
Source, yet no two rumors seem to be the same.
IMHO, all the speculation is an absolute waste of bandwidth. When
the "NEXT BIG THING" finally shows up, then the focus measurbating
and the speculation over the NEXT body can start all over again.
The cycle repeats itself every 6 to 12 months and there are those
that will never buy anything because their ability to make a
decision is paralysed by the fear of what's coming out next. It's
as if they fear the 10D will suddenly become as obsolete as a
pinhole camera when the next body hits the market and they would be
too embarrassed to be seen in public with it. I think this is the
difference between photographers and technojunkies.
