It appears the Chinese company is experiencing lots of problems with their legalese documents and vulnerability issues with their software.

I would wholeheartedly buy the Ace Pro except for one major caveat: the software and the obligation to register in order to use the camera.

I don`t have, don`t need, don't want a so called smartphone. I want to buy a camera, insert the battery, and use it at once, like all cameras. It looks very much like this camera, granted with excellent specs, is a spying tool (or at least a hidden marketing trick). No, absolutely not wanting to "register" in order to use the camera.

My advice? Wait until GoPro comes up with equivalent or better specs.

DJI also requires registering their action cams with smartphone app.

While I understand your viewpoint, it is not a "scam."

...was shown as an issue and a battery heat / expanding concern re the Ace Pro 2. FWIW there were examples show in a YT clip, i will post the URL if I can find it again.

So...if Insta360 withdrew a product for sale after serious issues arose for some, but then leave (selected?) models available in one favored seller....that is kinda hiding a recall...if so that would be scam-tacular.

I have no experience with the Ace Pro 2, but would consider a later model if they added GPS / IMU and the edge of possible scam type behavior vanished.

As Insta360 RS One inch owner, I found out their software connects back to their company in China in the background whenever you run it. If you block it with firewall, the software runs fine with no problem at all. Makes me wonder why would it want to make connection at first place.

They did run a scam recently on youtube asking people who they gave cameras to not mention it was not a sponsored review.

There is concern that their x4's 8k is really only 6.4k.

That's about 2/3's in on this video:

Check out the "manual" they gave to their "reviewers" in this clip...he has screen shots of it.

Insta360 Games?
