Hi there.
I believe Iam having the same issue as you (but i have a nokia 8.3) and just want to confirm that it was the ALDI plan that was the issue and not the phone itself correct?
Hi, ashnot.
My answer to your question is Yes, that phone should work quite fine with a different SIM.
Now, do what @ZorSy said: check out the GSMarena link for that phone and see for yourself that it is indeed LTE capable.
After that, go back to this early post in the thread:

and see what ZorSy's (and my) advice gives you when you try
*#*#4636#*#*
Just go to the phone app, type it in as if making a call. At the last * it will take you to the phone settings screen Have a look at what is locked On and Off with the Aldi sim.
You'll need another SIM to unlock the "locked" features by Aldi. (Ultimately blame Telstra for this, but that's partly why Aldi could sell such cheap services.)
Your alternative SIM choices:
Telstra or Optus very expensive monthly plans enable all features. (Not suitable fr me as I have home NBN and do not need their additional large monthly data.)
Optus sub-carrier like Amaysim - enables all the VoLTE features you want and offers 5G on some plans.
Telstra sub-carrier like Woolworths Everyday Mobile - ditto for features but 5G only in dearer plans. Alternatively, check out if the yearly plans suit you. WEM uses Telstra's MVNO network, so no coverage across the Nullabor/much of Central Australia etc
Boost Mobile - Telstra FULL network, ALL 5G plans; enables ALL features on your phone. Cheapest monthly is a bit uneconomical for data (IMO).
I settled for Boost 365-day $300/265GB, as I do get to remote places sometimes.
Good luck and let us know.
