ok think that didnt work.
Try this one

Here is a photo I took Nov 1 this year.
I wanted opinions. The sky looks bluer on my desktop computer
monitor than it does on my laptop screen.
I would love to have this one printed on canvas larger than the
8x10 that I have.
Anyone know of places that print on canvas for you?
Also, I cant seem to get the photo to come up in the post. Let me
know if you can view it.

...very pretty setting ! I think maybe a very slight tilt to the left may
be needed...otherwise it seems ok.

Tim

I just want to learn photography...

Absolutely gorgeous Ruth.
Sorry have no info as far as the printing.

Mickey

Thanks Mickey.
Can you believe it took me a year to get that shot?

I saw it last year and in the distance I saw the red roof and tried to zoom in with my then C3030 with only 3x optical zoom and it still looked like a spec.
I kept that spot in mind for one day when I bought the 10X zoom :)

I want to go back there in the winter when its snowing to see how that will come out. I only live like 15 mins away from there.
Absolutely gorgeous Ruth.

.01? I did mine in Photoshop Elements, not Photoimpact if that's what you mean. PSE has a nice auto straighten or if that doesn't work there is another procedure that's a little more complicated but seems to work pretty well. I would like to see how your version comes out when you are finished.

Wayne & Ruth,

If you look at the pine on the left side of this image and closely at the building I think they want just a bit more correction.

In PSE 2 Image. Rotate> Custom and select any amount of correction which will accept decimal values also.

It sure is worth working on, super image Ruth.

John, In PSE I go to the info palette and then use the line tool to draw a line across an feature in the picture which should be straight. In this case I used the shoreline of the river. Once the line is drawn, the info window shows the decimal number to straighten the pic. I then go to rotate, custom, and type in that number. It;s usually pretty accurate, but not always.

Wayne,

Perhaps you could try your approach using the pine tree on the left to get the angle from a different portion of the image. The shore line can add a dimension that isn't correct to the image due to its perspective.

Argh, I don't know how to "get" an image and have it available so that I can work on it and show everyone how I can ruin images.

Perhaps what I'm seeing is incorrect, but the pine really looks tilted to the right just a bit to me, and the structure also on your corrected version.

Maybe I just need something to go with the chaser.

Maybe I need to level my chair or the monitor or something else, but it still looks off just a bit to me.

Submitted with all due respect.

I am from the Lehigh Valley so most of the pictures on your site are very familiar!

Sorry, I'm a novice so no advice but your compostitions are quite nice!

Hey thats cool.. did you see the Trexler preserve shot I put on bytephoto and a whole lot more on my ruthctaylor site.

I have our bike ride on the Lehigh Canal and also the Lehigh Gorge and then there is Hawk Mountain up by your area too. :)

Yup! I saw the Trexler shots. Also very familiar are the Deleware Canal, Bushkill Falls, Lancaster, Jim Thorpe, Lahaska, Beltzville, the Canal ride, Renaissance Fair and Raubsville photos!!

I'm down south now. I only really appreciate it when you are far away sigh

I kicked it 'left'... one degree ...and the vertical lines of the building/house were perpendicular to the frame.

The 'pine tree' is leaning right, several more degrees than the house, so I don't think 'that' is a good 'marker' for leveling the photo.

Aside from all this 'nit-picking'...heheh...Ruth--that's a lovely photo, you've taken!

John,

Just in case you didnt realize.. the photo was mine and Wayne was helping out :-P
I adjusted it too I am trying to figure out what you mean by the "The shore

line can add a dimension that isn't correct to the image due to its perspective."
How can it not be correct, I'm baffeled :)

Oh yeah.. forgot about all the other albums you mentioned that are also close to Lehigh. So you meant that you moved down south instead of just visiting I guess.

Well when I lived in Delaware County where I grew up.. I always appreciated what I thought as a country ride to Bucks County. But now that I live here and am starting to take photos more.. "the photofunatic" lol I appreciate everything around me more.
I'm sure there are things to appreciate where you are now too :)

nit pic away lol
Than I can get it to look better before I post it for POTW
although where I posted it.. I seem to not be getting any responses so far.
Maybe they are all sleeping :)

You are right.. those pine trees were growing crooked. The sun usually sets to the far left of that house.. maybe in the winter I will go back again.

I live only 15 mins from that spot so a seasonal collage could be in the works :-P
