Hi there, I am planning to buy I1 photo and was wondering if there is anything I need to think about before I buy this product?
and is the software able to make a profile for specific light?

and another question, I am originally living in Sweden and I am there queit a bit but I live in Latvia now.

and in Latvia there is no dealers for the product so I could buy it from Sweden when I am there next time but what I have noticed is that the product cost about $1400 in the states while it costs $2500 in sweden.

so does anyone know about a place in the states that would sell the product and send it to me in Sweden or Latvia?
Because I dont see why I need to pay $1100 more for it in Sweden.

Best Regards
Amin

Logix-usa.com and b&H have the i1 - they should ship to Sweden. Shouldn't they?

Amin, I tried calling B&H to find out for you if they ship to Sweden which I'm sure they do like Mister Guru had mentioned but they were closed for the night. Here is their telephone #1-800-606-6969.

I also have iOne Photo and I love it. If you already haven't I suggest you take a look at http://www.gretagmacbeth.com/Source/Gm.asp

They have a very good iOne Interactive Training Modules for Monitor & Printer Profiling. It really gets you set up in your mind before you use the real thing.

More time would make me even happier.

I couldn't find it by searching for i-1 Photo or Eye-One-Photo, but it came right up when I searched on Gretag Macbeth. Here's a link directly to the listing:

No - I1 Photo provides no means of adjusting the output profile to
suit the viewing light. I think you need to spend more money on
ProfileMaker Pro to get that feature.

John
That is only partially correct. Eye One Match software can and does indeed profile your monitor for specific light, namely the standard illuminants such as D50 etc. Profilemaker can go further. It can profile your monitor to an ambient light measurment made using the new Eye One with the Eye One Share software. Older Eye One's (before May 2003) did not have the ambient light measurment capability.

Ok but what I was asking for actually is if it is possible to make profile for the printer for a specific light? because the 2100 pigmented colors does change color shift in diffrent light so that was my actual question.

My reply assumed you were referring to printer profiles, this being the printers and printing forum.

Thank you all for your replies and help.

I just ordered and payed for the product so now I just hope that I did the right thing.

I am been using profile prism for my printer and have been queit happy with it but was hoping for more so I hope that it will be significant upgrade in terms of quality.

just anyone who used the profile prism with an lide scanner that has gone this route with eyeone could comment on there experince from the change if they feel that it was worth the extra or not.

actually it doesnt matter anymore because it is payed for allready but anyway would be interesting

The EyeOne Spectrophotometer and EyeOne Share WILL allow you to measure the ambient light source but you can NOT build this into a profile without the ProfileMaker Pro module for output profiles. EyeOne software (Photo or Publish) will always use a D50 profile whitepoint. You CAN get jus the ProfileMaker Pro output module but it's about US $995.
