Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

I'm always impressed with the results @ 700mm

Great looking car. Rolling art.

The wild weather of the last few days has moved offshore and this morning the sun came out. So I thought it was time for a stroll along the beach.

The surf was still up.

So there was plenty of flotsam and jetsam.

As they grow bigger they blow bubbles which harden to keep them afloat. If the bubble bursts they sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Goose barnacles attach themselves to anything that floats and are then at the mercy of wind and weather.

A very productive stroll along the shore after what seems to have been some pretty wild weather Dicky.

I like the bird images especially the Gerrygone.

I think that pretty little plant is undeserving of the name pigface.😃

Thank you. It is a very fortunate part of the world.

I think the botanist who named it was pie-faced. :-D

The last flower shot is beautiful Craig and I like the mono full frame of the two ducks.
Thanks, Pete. The ducks were difficult to photograph because they were under a small tree in the shade or what was a bright day. Monochrome turns the disadvantage of the light to an advantage or sorts.

Fantastic pictures of the surf, Dicky. The banksia flower is a beauty.

Thanks Craig, it will be spring here in a couple of weeks so I hope to get out and about a bit more.

A nice set to look through Dicky. It looks dark out to sea! That violet sea snail is an eye catcher! The body appears to be transparent, at least the visible parts. Great birds as usual.

Andrew

The roses are lovely Craig. Do you have 'pesty' animals in your neighbourhood? We have racoons, opossums, skunks, and coyotes. I won't count the rabbits because I like them and on our property they really don't do any damage. They do however attract the coyotes and some hawks or eagles. I don't get to see the hawks or the eagles (except way up in the sky).

We have coyotes mostly along with the rabbits and those who shall remain unnamed.

Barnacles are survivors!

The transparent parts are air bubbles in a membrane grown to give the snail essential buoyancy so they can float around the surface of the ocean.
