Very nice captures, Morris. I may well be wrong here, but it sure looks like the wing in the sun might be somewhat overexposed. There's a ton of contrast in this image, which makes it that much more challenging, but if it were me, I think I would have brought the whites down a bit in post. Again... perhaps more a matter of personal preference than anything else. I'm guessing there might be just a bit of detail in there.

Thank you Jerry,

There is a lack of detail on the top of the wings as there is no shadow (sun high in the sy) on that less detailed part of the bird. Even if I shot one stop under there would be no detail there. If you download the images and sample the spots you are concerned with you will see there not pegged at 255.
