I have done something stupid and turned my XH2 into an expensive brick, and I can't figure out how to fix it.
A few months ago, since I wasn't using the LCD display very much, I changed the settings to display on the viewfinder only, both for shooting and playback. (Previoiusly, I had it set to switch from viewfinder to LCD depending on whether the viewfinder sensor was triggered.) After shooting in an awkward position, where using the LCD display would have been useful to composing the shot, I tried to switch the settings back to their original state, but when I did, whether in shooting or playback mode, the LCD screen would not display anything. I'm not aware of any physical damage to the LCD that could explain its failure to display. This is when I did something stupid. I changed the setting to LCD screen only, thinking that doing so might trigger the LCD screen to work again.
Unfortunately, now I can't see anything through either the viewfinder or on the LCD screen. I thought I would do a factory reset, but can't figure out how to do that when I can't see the camera menus. Then I thought about connecting the camera to a computer monitor via HDMI to see if the camera screen (i.e., menu settings) could be made to appear on an external monitor so I could navigate to either change the menu settings back to viewfinder only or perform a factory reset, but I can't figure out how to make that work.
Before trying to interact with Fuji or sending my camera in for repair, I thought I would see whether any of the experts in this community could help with this unusual problem.
Any suggestions or solutions would be much appreciated.
