Living in EU and buying directly from OM System

Besides, what constitutes an EU website? OM System's site is clearly global and what top level domain is used and where the server is say nothing about where the company is or where they ship from anyway.
Charlotte, nobody in Europe cares for their global site with the exception, that you can find a link to the European site there.

You have been there as you said you've used their contact form and sent them a question. https://my.omsystem.com/se/p/contact-customer-support

Now if you scroll down all the way on that page (or any other Oly/OMDS Europe page), you will find a link to the "Impressum" (Imprint), a requirement under German law, as OMDS Europe is set up as a German GmbH, about comparable to a Swedish Privat Aktiebolag.

Following that Imprint link, you can see that OMDS Europe is located in Hamburg, Germany: https://my.omsystem.com/company/imprint/

I really like our Imprint law for business websites, gives you a name, an address, contact information, etc.

I ordered a black/silver EP-7 for just shy of £600 complete with 14-42 EZ lens with free delivery from Hamburg, Germany to U.K. and it arrived very quickly.
They ship their stuff via DHL.

So maybe most Germans are wrong when they say 'DHL' stands for 'Dauert halt länger' ('just takes longer'). :-D

Definitely sent from Germany, I returned an item and the prepaid label had a Frankfurt address

It's actually law in every EU country, that you need to give the official company name, address and VAT number on an EU based website

OM System ship from Germany if you purchase from Europe. UK shipments (not EU) are inclusive of VAT, customs etc.

If you select Sweden as country, there should be nothing to be paid extra.

They do country-specific sides, where you just select the country. As long as you pay in SEK, that should be the final price.

OM System Sweden: https://explore.omsystem.com/se/sv/

I have ordered from OM System (Norway) and never been asked anything extra, they handle VAT and everything for you.

As Morten1389 has confirmed, all their prices include VAT and there is nothing extra to pay, even delivery is free. I ordered from U.K., paid in U.K.£ and the whole transaction was seamless.

As long as you order from the OM System's store tied to your country, they should handle everything for you :-)

Most serious stores handle this properly!

I ordered the 75-300mm lens on Wednesday, I see taxes (VAT) is a separate post on the order confirmation also, so the prices do include this :-)

They have a summer sale with really good prices, at least in Sweden. But I can't find any information at their site about from where the goods are shipped. They seem to have localized pages for a lot of countries, but that doesn't say anything about where their warehouses are located. I don't want to risk being hit with VAT, customs and other fees.

I used their form and sent them a question about it, but I expect to have to wait for the answer and the sale is on only for a few days. So, anyone in EU has experience with buying from them and knows how it works?

For the record, I'm in Sweden.
I live in Germany and placed an order for an OM-1 kit with the 8-25/4 lens about two weeks ago. The UPS package that finally arrived last week had the return address from Neu-Isenburg, which is a small town on the outskirts of Frankfurt.

It seems that the company doesn't ship from Hamburg and doesn't always use DHL, as some people have suggested. However, it's definitely based in Germany.
