I really loved my R6, but I found that I am a severe cropper and I wanted the extra pixels of the R5. The transition is pretty easy, but I fear I will never learn all the ins and outs. I have Dave Busch's R5/R6 book, but see a bunch of easy to carry resources on Amazon Books that claim to explain the key/important points of setup, shooting, etc. for the R5.

Are any of them worthwhile? Has anyone tried them?

I have a Busch's book and one other one - don't recall the author at the moment. I bought them because I was coming from Nikon and freaking out a bit about learning a new system after 15 years. But in hindsight it was wasted money. I learned more by watching "how to set up" YouTube videos (there are many, would recommend watching a few b/c each one tends to focus more or different settings. There are also one's for particular set ups = birds, weddings, etc.) and then just going out and shooting and making mistakes.

thanks. I am looking for something I can take with me for quick reference. I see reviews on Amazon, but I trust the folks on DPReview more. ;-)

No, I get that. Honestly, the R6 isn't going to be that different than the R5 as far as operation goes. If you want a quick reference put the PDF version of the R5 manual on your phone would be my suggestion.

This book by Nina Bailey (EOS Magazine) is very good, and pocketable. I think you can also get an ebook version.

I learn far more by sitting down with the camera and going down each menu tab item by item to make sure I understand my cameras.
