Very Confident: 90+% they will announce the R5ii at that event.

As to when will people actually be able to get one for themselves.... TBD

I just put in a pre-order for the R5ii with my local shop. Iv been looking to step up from my crop sensor dslr to FF mirrorless for a while and I was VERY close to ordering the z8, had a whole post about that or a timbered z7iii. But after trying out an R5 I’m convinced the 5ii will be the camera for me to grow my hobby for many years to come if the R5 is any indication of quality.

We don't know what it is, what grip it needs, when it will be available or how much.

I'm going to wait to understand what it is they are actually offering. Perhaps a trade of speed for other performances as we have seen over at Sony and Nikon. I hope not of course.

It’s just a pre-order so if it turns out not to fit me I can always cancel. But based on a lot of the rumored specs I think it will suit my needs perfectly!

Sure would love to get a hold of a new R1 this fall before heading back to SriLanka for the winter if this is actually going to be announced..

C2PA announcement, no new cameras or lenses. Watch as the internet blows up :-D

Seriously for a second, I'd love to see this thrown in with the likely new cameras, particularly if it's put into an R5 firmware update.

While rumors says R1 most likely get a full announcement together with the R5 II and the R5 II is expected to hit the streets in August, rumors also says R1 probably wont be available for normal consumers until sometime in Q4. November has been mentioned several times as a likely month. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear.

Rumors has been wrong more than once, but maybe don't put your hopes too high...

I’ve been invited to the launch event in Australia… pity I’m in New Zealand! They’re hosting at several camera stores in each state…

Haha - I think I might prefer an R5 MkII...??!! I'm a photographer based in New Zealand but I'm signed up to Canon Australia and NZ.

Hopefully they will have an event in NZ also. When the R3 was launched they were generous with R3 themed water bottles... maybe this time it'll be actual cameras?

Anyone know if any launch events in the UK have been announced? None of the retailer websites have any information, and I’ve bought from most of them (also from Canon UK store) so would have expected an invitation - but nothing. I’m keeping the 17th free…

If it's indeed a product launch, they have kept it really quiet this time around. If we don't start seeing details a few hours ahead of actual launch, they have really managed to plug it very well

There have been lots of speculation around R1/R5 ii purely based on anticipation of obvious product roadmap, but how likely is it that any of those will drop without a lens or few accompanying them. No talk of that (in specific terms)
