love the first one, but there certainly isn't anything wrong with the second. I just like the smiles :)

I like the first one the most, it has a natural look to it. Very relaxing to view, and it looks like the true character of the couple is coming through.

The second one doesn't really do anything for me, it is well done, but I think it gives me flash backs of the 80's hehehe.

for me, there's a real powerful love shown in number 1. the second shot looks too eighties-ish to me. lol i don't know why, but i just think that..

great work, thanks for sharing it!

Ahh here you are!
I have been waiting for a fresh thread by you..
I gave you wrong directions on that color request.
In color balance...
1 to the red
.5 to yellow
and something I like since last try
another .25 to the green..
or thereabouts
make it more intense than you want..click ok
then colour variations.. a couple clicks on "lighter" version
and then to fade to fine tune between the two to your taste.

Oh..I like the first one better..more fun!
Nice job.

I like them both. Maaybe I like the first one best. But maybe not.

Maybe there's a lot of red in the second shot, but maybe that's why I like it. Maybe I prefer the second one.

Super pics, super subjects, super lighting. Look at the eyes!

I like them both.

I liked the first one better. The second was too serious of a look for my taste. When in comes to young couples I always like it when they look into each other eyes with that twinkle of love. Warms an old tired heart. In any case both your pictures are good.

Life is just a stage and we all have enough pictures to proof it!

Overall, like many others I prefer portrait #1. That being said I like the gentleman's expression in number one and the lady's look in number 2. :)

I'm always making things complicated. :)

Thanks for all your thoughts, but keep in mind I'm not asking you to pick a favorite. : ) Give me your input on both.

Okay, then, I'll give it a go.

The first to me says "portrait of a couple"...something that the people in the portrait would choose to have taken to put on display, give to friends, etc. They are clearly a couple. there is warmth and emotion showing. And it is a very nice portrait. I like the tight framing, the pose, ...

The second says "advertising". It looks like a poster for a comedy movie. There seems to be a contrast to their expressions that makes me feel they are 'hiding' something. The pose, expression and framing do not say "portrait of a loving couple".

Very nice, Ann.

That photo was actually meant to convey more of an advertising look. Of course, there was no "product" showcased here.

I think I probably made a mistake here in posting them TOGETHER. They are meant to convey two totally different intentions and looks. The second is not "about" a loving couple. :-)
The second says "advertising".

Picture #1

Looks a little hot in the exposure, but not in a bad way. It could be darker, but I also enjoy it as it is. There is a nice feel to it. The framing is well done, and the angles of the arms and heads all work in a complimentary way. I like the color of the clothing. I can't actually find anything I dislike about it.

The framing is a bit tight, if you go to make an 8x10 of this, you will be cutting off some important pieces, though a 4x6 will of course print out quite well.

Picture #2

One of the first things that strikes me is the mans arm, it is far too straight and ridged, it needs a bend at the elbow for naturalness. I do like the contrasting colors of the red and tan. The facial expressions look too forced though. The females hands look too ridged too. All together the image just looks uncomfortable, and that discomfort transfers to the viewer. I have a hard time looking at the image. I mentioned the 80's in my last post, I think I might refine that to a picture somehow, in someway for the musical group Devo. It has that hard angular feel like they sometimes portrayed.

The exposure on this one looks a little hot as well, but not in a bad way, it would certainly work as is. This one would also crop better to various print sizes.
Thanks for all your thoughts, but keep in mind I'm not asking you
to pick a favorite. : ) Give me your input on both.
