As a datapoint, I ordered a silver 100VI from B&H on the first day around 6pm CST. I received an email a week or so ago telling me I could expect my camera to be shipped around November 13th.

Sounds just as bad as those ordering a Leica Q3 when it was introduced over 13 months ago.As a datapoint, I ordered a silver 100VI from B&H on the first day around 6pm CST. I received an email a week or so ago telling me I could expect my camera to be shipped around November 13th.
After I saw the demand, I thought best case I might see it this summer, most likely case around Christmas and worse case sometime in 2025. Like most of us waiting, I don’t need it, I have other cameras, but I want it for my collection. So I am waiting patiently.Sounds just as bad as those ordering a Leica Q3 when it was introduced over 13 months ago.As a datapoint, I ordered a silver 100VI from B&H on the first day around 6pm CST. My friend in Kyiv should seriously consider this option. In Moscow, you can grab one on the same day - they're usually in stock. Or, if you're feeling lazy, you can just order it online and get it delivered the next day.
I’m waiting till just before Christmasand last week I've sold mine ;-)
Well, that's down from 8 months in your previous estimate! Admittedly it is truly frustrating. Though more costly, I put in an order for a Fuji GF30mm T/S lens when it was first released at the end of September of 2023. Still 2nd on the waiting list. They are trickling into the US at a monthly rate so slow, I have told my brick and mortar store I would like to be able to have it before I die!!! Yes, frustrating! Now estimating December 31, but didn't say what year.
I got my x100VI from someone whom I knew had ordered both to ensure he would get at least one. They arrived almost simultaneously and he gave up the silver one to me for an extra fee. My sense is if you, perchance, order 2 and they both arrive on the same day (probably unlikely with different order dates), you can probably unload the other (brand new in box) in 5 minutes since demand is so high. II tried to see if B&H would amend my order to Silver or Black whichever might come first. No go.
I could order both (not viable at this late date) but with my luck they might both come in....
Generally they produce far more silver than black, but the orders awaiting fulfillment may be skewed in that direction so less quickly available.
:-(.
Time for "It's So Hard To Wait" by the Buffalo Springfield....
My luck has changed - had registered my name as interested with a company that just takes a £5 deposit to order back on 1 June - they messaged me today to say it is due in next week. I still have one I have paid for in advance that could still be a long way off. It would just be my luck if I now ended up over ordering and the other arrives now I have paid for the first one!In the UK. I am so angry with myself about this - I put a pre-order in and was offered it soon after they first shipped - and in a moment of uncharacteristic caution around my camera buying, I decided it was a bit of a luxury and declined it. I was filled with regret almost straight away. I finally reordered but ended up on a big wait list.Asked in my local photography store, they say they get between 2 and 6 each month, with a waiting list of 12 making it a minimum of 2 months waiting if they got the maximum each month.
I feel I need to qualify, I'm not comming to this camera from tiktok, I had the original x100 a billion years ago and the x100T after that, but stupidly sold both rather than have them go obsolete in a drawer, when babies came and left no time for photography, just getting back to it now!
Last week I found a store with only one waiting in the queue ahead of me for a black one, so I have ordered with them, but they have no idea when stock will arrive.
For what it is worth, EVERYWHERE I enquired with had a much bigger wait list on the silver model than the black, so ordering black may see your camera arrive substantially quicker. I think most will transfer your colour choice without sending you to the back of the list. (It suits me as although I think silver looks better on screen, I prefer the black model in the flesh.)
Fingers crossed for fast work from Fuji!
If their wait list is only 12 deep, then that shop is going to get you a unit most quickly. Presuming they get 2-6 units per month. Even if they only get 2 units per month, I'm sure that the wait will be longer if you order now from places like B&H and Adorama.Asked in my local photography store, they say they get between 2 and 6 each month, with a waiting list of 12 making it a minimum of 2 months waiting if they got the maximum each month.
