What are folks finding the sharpest f stop is? (Yes, I'll check on my own, but wanted to see if there's a consensus already).

You are right about the lens but I would take ephotozine's charts with a hefty pinch of salt . Some of their MTF results border on comedyPondering it as a kit 40-150 substitute but do not own one. Can only find a couple reviews with MTF graphs.
This one shows best center-to-edge resolution @ 70/4, testing three FLs only.
This one shows best center-to-edge resolution @ 50/5 , testing more FLs and apertures.
All reviews I see conclude it is good across the FL range and best wide open, or close to wide open. Subtly differs from the 2.8, which becomes sharper zoomed longer, but much better than the beloved plastic fantastic cheapie. As one hopes.
Interesting to me is while the lens must be extended from park, in use it's internal zoom. Very helpful for macros and such.
Cheers,
Rick
Mine is extremely sharp wide open. I rarely stop it down past 5.6.What are folks finding the sharpest f stop is? (Yes, I'll check on my own, but wanted to see if there's a consensus already).
