L-Bracket for A7CII?

Neewer has an L plate (black and silver) for Sony A7C ii.
I can find the baseplate from Neewer for these models but not an L bracket. Do you have a link to a Neewer L bracket for these cameras? If it exists, I'd be very interested.
I didn't find it from Neewer for the a7C II, did you see my previous post?

"I use the Sony GP-VPT2BT Wireless shooting grip along with this L-Bracket: Joby Vert 3K on my a7C II"
I was responding to the post from tb06mar who appears to be saying that there is a Neewer L bracket for the Cii CR models.

Yes, I saw your previous post. I don't think the Joby L bracket will fit arca plate tripods. Is this correct?

Not sure, I just attached it to the camera directly.

Thanks for posting this. They certainly say it fits the A7Cii and the A7CR. I was wondering how they did it. If you read the fine print and check down the alternative views of the camera, it's compromised. They make it clear that this L bracket only allows the screen to flip out to 45degrees.

For me, that wont work.
Not a fine print there is a big picture that says screen only works up to an angle

In addition you can extend the side part to make more room and extend more if you needed

The point is if you put your camera on a plate the flips screen is not helpful is better to ahve a classic screen like the A1

In fact range finder type of camera should not have any flip screen according to many

Looks like they tried balancing some degree of screen articulation with vertical dovetail area.

Great. That's the L bracket I have wanted. And I especially like the strap mounting lower left so a camera hangs down rather than with the lens pointing outwards. More comfortable and safer for the lens, especially teles. If during this, I think you would have to use the strap mount on the top of the bracket rather than the connector on the camera.

By leaving the gap on one side of the vertical plate they have solved the problem of the position of the screen hinge. The only issue I can see would be in the rigidity/long life of the vertical plate. If the bracket is used for attaching a camera strap, one of the points probably has to be the attachment point at the top of the vertical plate and that puts extra strain on the plate that now has a gap in one side.

Another point to note. The vertical plate looks as though it attaches to the base plate with a screw. This was a problem on a Smallrig L bracket I had for the A7Riii where that screw continually came loose without me noticing it until it was about to drop out. I fixed it by using Loctite on the thread and I'd do it with this version as well.

I use a fingerstrap rather than a neckstrap most of the time and it has to attach to the top of the camera. I have Peak Design anchors also top and bottom so I can add a neck strap quickly if I am using a larger lens for an extended period. This design should enable me to use both.

Thanks for posting this, I'll be getting one of these. I have previously written to Smallrig asking for such a design and asking them to contact me if they made something. Never heard back from them.

I think it's interesting that the L can be disassembled if necessary (2 smaller screws attach the vertical to the horizontal that goes into the base plate), on a lot of plates that's 1 solid piece that can be more awkward to stash away in a small bag. It involves 3 screws so not something you'd wanna do often, but better to have the option...

I've seen that SmallRig does a cage and bottom plate, but does anyone make an L bracket with Arca Swiss mount? - or can one configure the SmallRig cage to only cover two sides of the body?
The A7CII is still pretty new. A year from now there will be a dozen different choices for L brackets.

Looking closer at the photos I think there are three screws. Two hold the vertical to the base plate and one appears to give adjustment to the distance the vertical plate can be set from the base plate. I like that. It would probably mean that the strap attaching lug on the camera could be used rather than the one on the top of the vertical plate.

I'd still want to use loctite though on the three of them.

Do note that the vertical dovetail on this one is positively tiny, and integrated into the bottom plate (it's not the extra piece, that's just an optional cable clip I think)
This looked promising, so I ordered one.

Indeed the vertical dovetail is very small, but it does work. And as usual for Leofoto, it's nicely made. However, it's already on its way back for a refund, for two reasons:

• I found the overall height of the baseplate to be too much. It's twice as thick as the very nice Smallrig plate for these cameras. (I realize they made it that way to enable the little vertical section, but it just looks and feels weird.)

• Second, and more important for me, the bottom dovetail is too short, so it's not possible to center the camera in a standard Arca clamp. (it will work with small clamps, but all my gear has full-size clamps).

Smallrig recently rleased one for the Cii Cr cameras. Looks good. Yet to see a report from a user.

I got mine a few days ago from Kogan. Seems to be similar in quality to all other models although the thread on the bottom was a bit tough for me.

I did notice the small Allen key that usually fits into it was included separate this time.

Ahh that's a bummer, I think some people might actually prefer that extra plate thickness/height in general TBH (everyone complaining about overhanging pinkies) but I'm not one of them, I like that the STC plate I'm using on my A7R4 is as thin as possible. I could probably work around the centering issue (swap clamps, or put a smaller clamp on the larger one when I really need it perfectly centered) but the thickness would bug me.

At this point I'm kinda surprised that no single first party has gotten into the L bracket business, or that almost no one outside MF will build in side 1/4" threads into their bodies, this is one those things in the camera industry that makes absolutely no sense but everyone keeps doing it the same way by sheer inertia and tradition. L plates have to get increasingly more creative to work around body size and screens when we shouldn't when need em, sigh...

Agreed, Most users of better cameras will want to be able to attach them to a tripod. Usually that means an arca plate. The base and side of a camera ought to be designed with this in mind. I'm happy to have the base/sideplate removable for versatility and also because they can take a bit of abrasive contact. I like the extra protection they add as well as the tripod and strap mount capabilities. Yes they add bulk to my A7CR but then, when I was using a bigger model I added the L bracket to that anyway so the size advantage remains.

I went to buy one of these. It is still listed as "coming soon." I'd like a date before paying up. It isn't listed by my local smallrig suppliers. Also note that the flip screen can only be extended to "around" 120 degrees. I'm going to have to think about that and the situations where I use the screen. When I have one, an L bracket is mounted almost permanently on my camera. Generally I use the evf rather than the screen. I use the screen for low level and when on a tripod. Not sure that I'll be happy with a 120 limit.
