When will R5 ii and a7v be released ?

I heard many rumors about both cameras being released this year or Q1 2024 .

Any idea when they will be released ?

I'm hesitant in selling my canon dslr equipment and buy into either the R or the Sony A7 systems .

How is anyone here suppposed to know, apart from guessing?

Those that do know (if) are not going to tell.

Here's the release timeliness for the A7 series:

I - Oct 2013

II - Nov 2014

III - Feb 2018

IV - Oct 2021

Now keep in mind what has happened in the world since the last model was released. Just buy the IV and enjoy taking photos. The V will be 5% better and chances are you and I don't have the skillet to notice the difference.

The R5 is far more likely to be replaced this year as it came out July 2020 but I hope you have DEEP pockets because the glass is $$$ and there are no third party AF options. Sure, you can adapt your lenses to either body but if you're not using native mount you're not getting the full benefit of the mirrorless systems.

I think that anywhere between 0.5 and 32% is just as good guess as yours.

( BTW how do you quantify an improvement ?)

The release dates will depend on the technical challenges and not just the release schedule of previous cameras.

For the R5ii, the rolling shutter would need to be improved for the next version, and that might not be easy to implement in a 45MP sensor. I would think that the R5ii would also feature dual CFe-B cards since the price of those cards has come down significantly.

The A75 would most likely upgrade to the 8-stop IBIS in the A7R5 and could also implement full width 4K60 to compete with the R6ii. Such a camera could take away sales from the A7S4 though, so maybe they would release the A7S4 first. I expect the A7S4 would have some features to justify the extra cost over the A75 though, such as 4K120 and internal ProRes recording.

Just my thoughts.

I was looking for an old article and came accross this year old post. That's how long people have been speculating about the Canon R5ll!!

It's a year old and though the Canon 5ll is not out YET the announcement is aupposed to happen next week!

Lets hope we don't have to wait another full year!!! LoL
