We've been away recently, but today I tried to access the comparison section on the Imaging Resource website, and couldn't...

Is that "down" for some reason, or has it all closed completely now?

I believe it went out of business. A sad loss to photographers.

I'm with you. IR was my 'go-to' site for reviews and comparisons for many years. I really hope someone can and will revive it, or create another much like it.

I loved the fact that you could easily compare lens sharpness and distortion for lab tested lenses with their excellent 'Lens Blur' graphic tool. In addition, IR camera and lens reviews always had sample images that were meaningful, well exposed, and well thought out -- if they were testing a fast lens, they didn't simply park it on f/1.8 and point it at scenes that made no sense at that aperture (like other sites, whose names I won't mention).

The demise of IR is a genuine loss to a lot of serious photographers.

Same here, no more IR?

Love this site, specially of the few tests which were rarely been done by other reviewers. The Low Light AF, the response time of start up and between shots, the global sharpness map of lens...

….AI?

Adobe saying this morning that AI will kill off stock photography. :-(

You can still find a saved capture on the internet archive:

I was pleased to see this but unfortunately I can't load it for some reason - I get a ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR every time. I've tried a few tricks I know but so far nothing has worked, nor has a google search revealed any suggestions I hadn't already tried.

Short of disabling security altogether (not going to happen!) I'll just have to live without the IR archive, which is a shame.
