My cousin has a problem with his XT3. Whenever he pressed the playback button, the photo he has taken will only display in the EVF and the LCD will be off. He is asking for my help since I also has an XT3, but I can't find the relevant setting. Other than doing a factory reset, what is the proper way to undo the display image playback in EVF ONLY?
In other word, he want the image to playback on the LCD instead of the EVF. The last I've checked, the EVF sensor was not blocked. Thanks for your helps in advance. ;-)

Have him press the small "VIEW MODE" button, on the top right of EVF, until the message on the screens says "EYE SENSOR + LCD IMAGE DISP."[1], that should do it :)

From the manual: "EYE SENSOR + LCD IMAGE DISP.: Putting your eye to the viewfinder during shooting turns the viewfinder on, but the LCD monitor is used for the display of images once you remove your eye from the viewfinder after shooting."

p.s. Alternatively, he might be interested in "EYE SENSOR" instead, too: "Putting your eye to the viewfinder turns the viewfinder on and the LCD monitor off; taking your eye away turns the viewfinder off and LCD monitor on."

The main difference being "EYE SENSOR + LCD IMAGE DISP." does _not_ show image review in EVF after taking the photo, only if you move away from EVF and then image review is shown on LCD instead.

On the other hand, "EYE SENSOR" alone will always show image review after taking a photo (if image review is configured to be shown, that is), and depending on whether you have the eye on the EVF or not, the image review will either be shown on EVF or LCD.

I believe the View Mode is configured separately for both shooting mode and playback mode. Put the camera in playback mode and then toggle the View Mode button to select the appropriate configuration for playback. From the problem description, it seems like LCD only for the View Mode in playback should be selected.
