Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

I'm reminded of a comedian called **** Emery . One of his favourite expressions was 'Oh you are awful, but I like you'. Seems appropriate here Dicky.

That lens is great for shooting 'birds' right enough. 😄

How times have changed. My generation would have been arrested for public indecency had they dressed like that, but I suppose even the bikini was considered scandalous by my mother's generation. I am obviously too old to understand body art too. I'm sure it has coded meanings too subtle for an old f^rt like me to understand. When I grew up it was limited mostly to sailors who all seemed to have a crown and anchor tattooed on their arm with the motto "Home and Mother".

Yes, very versatile.

I think I prefer the colour version.

The monochrome might work better with more contrast. The clouds don't have the ominous look that monochrome can provide. FWIW.
Milagra Ridge... nice image. I like the clouds. A little meh...

A little more moody in B&W. Not sure it really works tho... a little muddy.

I like this one better. In fact, I like this one a lot! Not meh at all. I would say minimalistic. A lot of subtle texture in the hillside, an indistinct glimpse of the ocean (or is it fog?), and some great interaction between sky and clouds. Nice!

Do they run for cover when someone points a large bazooka like object in their direction Dicky?

Surfing is a totally foreign concept for me. You could do it at times on the Great Lakes but not enough times to make it a worthwhile hobby here. Kind of like snowmobiles in southern Ontario. We no longer get enough snow to make them worth owning unless you are several hours north of where we live and even then it could be a no go.

I guess the young lady in the first is awaiting her 'ride'.

Nice looking weather you have there!

Andrew

Thanks Rich.

That type of image is where your Nikon would excel! More pixels! On the other hand I might still be waiting for it to stitch!

I often wonder if they even see me on the other side of the glass Joe. On occasion they seem to get startled and may fly into the window. Not much room between where they are and the glass so they bounce off and fly away.

That's my favorite place to watch the sun dip under the waves. No hands were harmed in the making of this image. ;-)

LOL Dave... would enjoy a cold brew on a nice day. Didn't enjoy warm beer when I was stationed in Germany! Hope they found out about refrigeration! :-)

It's a nice mellow image... not much drama. Agree... color does work better.

Yes, Dave, something about being out there all alone. Makes for in interesting image.
