I've just been looking at turning on the wireless image transfer thing on my Z7 but the "network settings" option in the menu is greyed out and I get the "this option isn't available with the camera's current settings" nonsense if I click on it.

Has anyone experienced this and if so, how did you get around it?

Nikon don't seem to have the intelligence to tell us what's wrong in these situations, just that something is!

Maybe the Network Guide will have some clues..

Do you have airplane mode on?

Right!

I've got it working.

At the moment, it's simply downloaded a so far, empty folder but I believe that downloading images might take a while, so I'll leave and see what happens.

Thanks again for your help.

There are transfer modes where after you connect and take a picture, you have to select send to transmit the image.

I think there is another mode where you can auto send everything.

I am having the same issue with the network menu being grayed out, but airplane mode is not on in my case. Airplane mode is also grayed out. I could not turn that on even if I wanted to. I need another solution. I got it back by resetting all settings. Pain. If it helps, I believe both times it happened right after I connected the camera to my ipad by usbc to to the tether app. I alerted Nikon to this odd instance, but I am hoping for a solution sooner,....ever.

The camera's networking features are unavailable when the camera's USB connection is in use. Did the issue persist even after disconnecting the camera from your iPad?
