Is the best 3 still LR, C1, and DXO?

My try with Adobe. Didn't apply any NR.

A good effort, but you downsized it to 3000 long side as opposed to the original size of roughly 9000.

BTW, Lightroom Classic's capability (strictly as a DAM) doesn't come close to IMatch. Maybe it will someday, but that will take a long time.
IMatch is a fantastic DAM - If you NEED everything it can do. I tried it and found it way too complex and with a steep learning curve. When I switched from PL6 to LR Classic I was up and running with its DAM in fairly short order, And it does everything I need and much more. BTW I really like LR Classic and its many features that are relatively easy to learn and use.

Cheers,

Rod

It's just a DAM correct? I didn't see any major editing tools unless I missed something. If it is a DAM bases only it's not surprising it is better than LrC. Great if you need all of that.

Yes. IMatch is a DAM and focuses on managing images, videos and many other file formats.
"Doing on thing right" and all that...
Users combine IMatch with a RAW processor, image editor, video/audio editor and other software. Separating the DAM part makes it very easy for them to switch to another RAW processor or software when needed.

If the built-in organization features in Lightroom Classic are sufficient for you - awesome!
Whatever works for you is good!

Thanks. LrC's DAM is more than enough for me.

It's four times the size of the example you posted.
Which is why I labeled the included jpg a thumbnail. I haven't yet shown my finished product in case anyone else wants a try :^)
That's a wonderful shot, BTW. Okay, I need the practice with PhotoLab 7, so ...

PhotoLab + Photo AI

If it's not up to par, blame me rather than the software. I went for the 'noiseless' look just because I can. No cropping, though it could use some. And I didn't really try to blur or alter the background because I can't get a good detailed mask in PhotoLab to save my life, though I could probably have done it with something else after export. Final sharpening with Photo AI.

Another Darktable interpretation. Some masking to increase contrast on the stork without affecting the background.
